What people say
“Alchemist The Mill is one of the more distinctive café spaces in Singapore. It was founded by a Singaporean who expanded it into one of Singapore’s best-known specialty coffee chains. This café sits inside a black neo-gothic building called The Mill in Jalan Kilang. It offers a dramatic, moody industrial aesthetic — dark interiors, chandeliers, leather seating, and high ceilings. I arrived at the café at about 1.50 pm after lunch on a weekday. It was quite packed, but the patrons left at 2 pm after the lunch hour. I like that this café offers a quiet atmosphere compared to other cafés in the city. Besides espresso drinks, white coffee, and black coffee, their house blend “Dark Matter” is particularly popular among regulars. Their pastries were almost sold out, with the last three remaining during my visit. This café is good for conversations and makes a great hideout place.”
“I chanced upon this while I was looking for nearby cafes at ABC Brickworks Market & Food Centre and I was intrigued when I saw the name of the place, the photos, and the review scores, so I decided to check out this place after lunch at ABC. The building looks cool and when you enter, you'll see some nice murals in the small carpark, then after you exit the lift on level 2 you'll be able to see the nice building designs upclose on your left while the cafe is on your right. The cafe is really small (probably sits about 20 people max?) so I would advise you to come on a weekday as I did when it wasn't crowded so that you can chill and also take some nice photos! I had an iced chocolate ($7) which tasted just alright and the cup was rather small so not really worth it but at least the Danish ($6) was pretty nice!”
“This is my number one coffee spot in Singapore, hands down. If anyone asks for a recommendation, this is the first place that comes to mind. No question. S triking gothic and medieval vibe on the outside, but once you step in, it’s neat, cozy, and industrial. Most importantly, the coffee is always consistent. A little noisy when it’s a crowded day so I will try to go off peak 😌 Worth it”
“Very nice coffee place on second floor of this gothic building. Industrial style decor. Ordered coffee and a pastry. Taste really great.”
“A beautiful modern design specialty coffee shop, for drip coffee you can choose from 4 different beans, very good quality, beautiful place to relax, though almost impossible to find, it's on the 2nd floor, deep in a modern building but you mustn't give up, it's worth it.”
