What people say
“It’s great to see Baldwins thriving on Street 240 in its own charming multi-story building after leaving the Tribe Hotel. I’ve eaten here multiple times and the ground-floor dining room, while limited to around 20 seats, never feels cramped or chaotic. Chef Guy’s cooking is consistently elevated and delivers excellent value for money. Occasionally the menu can feel a bit repetitive, such as a period when duck featured heavily after sourcing from Pepe in Sihanoukville, but the execution remains strong every time. It’s a dependable choice for both lunch and dinner and one of my favourite places to eat in Phnom Penh. Five out of five stars.”
“We would never have expected to enjoy such an outstanding culinary experience in Phnom Penh. This restaurant was a wonderful surprise in every possible way. The owner is an exceptionally friendly and attentive host. He guided us beautifully through the menu, took his time, and even offered us a tasting of one of his own creations — a generous and memorable gesture. What impressed us most is his ability to create dishes with a truly personal signature. With great finesse, creativity, and attention to detail, he turns each plate into something special. Every course was a highlight, and even the house wine was excellent and perfectly paired. An absolute highlight of our trip — we highly recommend this place!”
“If you’re looking for a reliable, enjoyable lunch spot in Phnom Penh, Baldwin’s Bistro is well worth a visit. I stopped in recently and left thoroughly impressed. I ordered the chicken curry paired with a soda water. The curry was absolutely delicious; flavorful, well-seasoned, and clearly made with care. The atmosphere is one of the restaurant’s real strengths. The space is spotlessly clean and has a calm, relaxed vibe that makes it a perfect escape from the bustle of the city. The service was attentive and friendly without being overbearing, and the convenient location means it’s easy to fit into your day without going out of your way. Overall, Baldwin’s Bistro delivers on every front: great food, fair prices, pleasant ambiance, and good service. I’ll definitely be back.”
“The smoke duck dish was the best we have had even comparing the French ones. The tam Yum Spaghetti dish was Subtle, delicate With the hint of heat just beautiful. The chicken curry I shared with my friend was flavoursome and so smooth. The roast pear desert with fruit was a prefect finish to our wonderful meal. The house white was smooth and beautiful. The waiter was friendly and the chef owner said hello to every table. We felt like we had visited a friend’s place. We would like to return soon.”
“Fabulous little bistro, a gem in Phnom Penh. The food was sensational. I had the fish & chips as it was more a lunch type dish for me, it was really good. Service whilst friendly was a little bit off mark, wine and food came before cocktails. The only disappointment was the very limited wine list, only one type of white wine available, fortunately it was decent enough.”
