“Bale Udang is one of those look good, delicious food, elite priced establishment. It's sort of those place where you can bring VIP guests and feel good about it. It is that exclusive, but in a different take. The atmosphere is exquisite. Using traditional bamboo material as decorative as well as structural means for the most of the bale or pondok, and adding the restaurant vast space adds to it's exclusivity. Designed with a central pond in the center the bale and pondok are "floating" and arranged along the pathways leading around the pond. It resembles a small traditional village, something expatriates and tourists may not have the pleasure to experience in real life. Hence this is what makes it unique. You feel like being brought back in time in this restaurant, a unique experience, but comes at a pricey side. Two person dinner may easily exceeds 500K IDR. The caffee named Gemitir is an additional establishment catering to the more younger and dynamic customers who preffer to wind down with friends in this unique setting. Are you looking for a place where you want to be seen, then this is the place for you. I've enjoyed many times eating at this restaurant. The food here, all culinary dishes are perfectly presented and tasted very good. Nothing beats than a good-old home cooked meals, the flavor is authentically local. “I just had the most amazing dining experience at Bale Udang (Kuta branch) and honestly… everything was perfect. 🤍 We ordered lobster, oyster, and some vegetables, and I have to say all the food was incredibly fresh and cooked so perfectly. Every bite felt super satisfying — you can really tell they use high-quality ingredients and prepare it with care. What made it even more special was the hospitality. The staff were all so helpful, attentive, and genuinely kind. The service was top tier. The atmosphere, the ambiance, the whole place… everything just felt so peaceful and beautiful. There’s literally no word to describe Bale Udang other than perfect. I would definitely come back and honestly, I wouldn’t mind paying any price for this kind of experience again. “Amazing recommend this place to everyone. Celebrated my 50th here two weeks ago with 8 people. Our bill included cocktail drinks an food was $120AU all up for 8 people. Besides the beautiful surroundings, the staff were amazing an the food was outstanding. Add this to you next must place to visit on your next trip to bali. The Bale Kambang area (floating pavilion) is stunning, serene, and perfect for a relaxed family meal. The setting feels special and is very memorable. · Setting: Lush, tropical, and well-maintained, providing a true sense of escape. The Not-So-Good: · Food Temperature: A critical flaw. Almost every dish arrived cold or barely warm, significantly diminishing the enjoyment and taste of the food. This suggests issues in the kitchen-to-table process. · Spice Level Inflexibility: Despite requesting less spice, the kitchen was unable to adjust the heat level for any dishes. Every item was uniformly spicy, which is problematic for families with children or those with lower spice tolerance. The chef's inability to modify this is surprising for a hospitality-focused establishment. · Language Barrier & Menu: The menu is entirely in Indonesian, with no English translations or visual aids. For foreign visitors, ordering is a blind guess without significant help from the staff. · Service Lacks Guidance: Waiters were not proactive. They did not offer recommendations or explain dishes, which was especially needed given the language barrier. A more professional approach would involve guiding guests through the menu. Value & Cost: · Price Point: Minimum spend of IDR 600,000 (approx. $40 USD) per person to secure a table in the Bale Kambang area, expectations are naturally high. At this price, one anticipates warm food, adaptable service, and clearer communication, which were all lacking. Conclusion: Ambient offers a beautiful venue ideal for a family gathering or a scenic dinner. However, the experience is severely compromised by cold food, an inflexible kitchen, and unaccommodating service for international guests. It's worth visiting once for the ambiance, but manage your expectations regarding the meal itself. For the price paid, there are likely more reliable options in the area.”

“Place is absolutely stunning! Do yourself a favour and have dinner there. We were lucky enough to get a floating table — the atmosphere was incredible and so relaxing. The food was fantastic and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend for a special and memorable dining experience.”
