“Basic Wine Store @ Arcoris Mont Kiara Atmosphere: We finally had the opportunity to try the food and wine at Basic Wine Store when a friend was visiting from overseas. That evening it rained before so the night was a little cooler and breezy. We sat outdoor to dine and it was a great choice. It was fairly quiet and we were able to converse while Latin American songs were playing to my friend’s delight. Food/Beverage: We were recommended and proceeded to order their egg mayo with anchovies, razor clams cooked in butter, white wine and herbs, sautéed calamari with chickpeas, zucchini and aioli, pork ragu. The egg mayo was creamy, razor clams umami, sautéed calamari cooked just right, and pork ragu hearty and rich. We mopped up the leftover sauces with a bread basket. The staff presented 3 different white wines; one from Vouvray, France, Germany and Octave from Greece. We picked Wilder Satz Pur from Pfalz, Germany. It’s made of 3 primary grapes: Chardonnay, Sylvaner, Muller-Thurgau. Pale gold in color with notes of citrus like lemon, kombucha and mineral. It was bright , tart, juicy, fresh on the tongue and it really paired well with the mostly seafood based dishes recommended to us. Google: 4.8 My points: 4.9”

“Had a wonderful evening here. Everything was thoughtfully executed, from the wine selection to the food. The chocolate tart paired beautifully with a well chosen red and was a particular highlight. Special mention to Reuben for the engaging conversation and excellent recommendations throughout the evening. I’ll certainly be back for the superb tinned seafood.”

“Great wine bar with a good selection, especially the orange wines, which are quite hard to find. Food was pretty good too, goes well with the drinks. The outdoor sitting is perfect on windy day, and the staff are friendly and approachable.”
