What people say

“⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ Visited Ben Thanh Market during our family trip and enjoyed the experience. There are many souvenirs, local products, and food stalls to explore. The market is lively and a great place to experience local culture. It can get quite crowded, and prices are sometimes higher for tourists, so bargaining is helpful. Overall, it’s a good place to visit and worth seeing when in Ho Chi Minh City.”
“I booking it though booking.com, in which the name is: Saigon Hotel Passion - Ben Thanh Market. The journey to the hotel really gave me an anxiety attack. Ho Chi Minh City was the last stop of my trip. After my flight landed at almost midnight, when I opened the booking.com page, I was shocked to discover that all the pictures from the page were deleted. When you track the address on Google, you land at KAS Passion Boutique Hotel. Also, the address mentioned on the booking page is wrong. Hence, I was alterted at a possible scam, which I was not ready for at that hour of the night. I still gathered some courage and reached the hotel at the contact no. provided on the chat response. When checking in, the person said that they are upgrading me to a bigger room; however, was asking for additional charges, which I clearly refused. Even after that, they gave me a room with 2 double beds, which was weird, as I was travelling solo. I was in touch with them and had shared all the details of the arrival and travel. The hotel is clean. The bed is comfortable. It's within walking proximity to the Ben Thanh Market, which was visible from my window. Has a working lift, which was great as my as I was on the 7th floor. The washroom was clean and had basic amenities. Card payment has an additional 5% surcharge, which was not expected.”
“I spent my afternoon at Ben Thanh Market in Ho Chi Minh City, and it was such a fun experience! The market is definitely one of those must-see places if you’re in the city. It’s got that perfect mix of vibrant energy and local charm that makes it feel like you’re truly in the heart of Ho Chi Minh. The first thing that hits you is the sheer variety of things you can find there. From fresh fruits, local spices, and snacks, to souvenirs, clothing, and handmade crafts, it’s like a maze of different goods packed into one bustling space. I couldn’t help but browse through the stalls, checking out everything from cool handmade bags to unique jewelry. The prices can be a bit higher than other spots in the city, but the quality is good, and the experience is definitely worth it. One of the highlights for me was the food. I grabbed some delicious Vietnamese snacks like banh xeo (crispy pancakes) and fresh spring rolls, and they were AMAZING. The flavors were so fresh and tasty—definitely a must-try if you’re into street food. Even though the market can get crowded, especially in the afternoon, it’s got such a lively atmosphere that it makes the hustle and bustle part of the fun. The vendors are friendly, and some even have a little playful banter, which makes shopping here feel more personal. Overall, Ben Thanh Market is a great spot to get a taste of local culture and pick up some souvenirs or fresh food. It’s one of those places that feels like you’re getting a real slice of the city, and I definitely enjoyed my afternoon there!”
“Hot as balls. I love street food buttt..... it was 2. Hot to eat there. Bring ur own fan. If they say fixed price it ain't. What ever price they tell you cut it in half if not 1/3. Then pick a # and stick to it. If they don't meet you near 50% of what they are asking walk away. Always get negotiate price for one then say if I buy 2 and go agreed price for 1 x 2 - 10% to 20% decent knock off watches. Not sure if coffee is real. Like could be same bean in all the different kinds lol”
“If you’re looking for beautiful and unique souvenirs from Vietnam, I highly recommend this little shop at Ben Thanh Market. The shopkeeper has a lovely selection of embroidered pouches, small bags, cosmetic bags and wallets. The quality is really good, nice fabric, lining and detailed embroidery. I got three pieces and honestly haven’t seen the same designs anywhere else. The owner is also very kind and not pushy at all. She helps if you need anything, but gives you space to look around, I didn’t want to bargain as prices were fair for these things, but she even offered me a small discount herself🥹 A great place to find something pretty for yourself or as a gift from Vietnam”
