What people say
“Bricks & Bread gets the setting right before you even sit down. A beautifully restored colonial building in the D7 area, outdoor terrace with mature trees, the kind of place that makes you slow down. The Balinese Chicken was excellent. Well seasoned, thoughtfully presented, one of the better lunch dishes I have had in KL. The Chilli Turkish Egg divided me slightly: flavour was genuinely good, the bread too, but serving it completely cold was a choice I did not quite follow. For a dish built around soft egg and chilli butter, temperature matters. Minor point aside, this is a café worth knowing. Great space, interesting menu, and a vibe that works equally well for a solo lunch or a long catch-up.”
“Visited **Bricks and Bread KL** recently and had a mixed experience. The café has a really cozy environment with beautiful open skylights that allow natural light to brighten up the space. It creates a warm and relaxing atmosphere, making it a nice spot to catch up with friends or just unwind. I would say the pricing is also on the cheaper side compared to the usual KL café price range, which is definitely a plus point. However, when it comes to the food, it was quite underwhelming. The dishes tasted rather bland and lacked spices, making them feel incomplete. Unfortunately, there wasn’t anything particularly impressive about the food or the service during my visit. Overall, I would give it 3 stars, mainly for the pleasant environment.”
“I ordered the smoked duck tomato pasta that costed RM35 and it was mid/average at best. The smoked duck pieces sikit je and the arugula je banyak. Ni dah macam arugula salad with a side of tomato pasta. Do yall see this mountain of arugula?? Also I ordered their digestive aid drink with the orange, guava and all that. It doesnt even taste like fresh juice bro. Legit just tastes like boxed orange juice with a hint of passionfruit. I payed RM16 for the drink btw. Insane. Please la if you want to have a good business, dont do your customers dirty like this. Its a shame cuz the restaurant itself, the vibe and all are great. Staff is also nice. Food je yg tk worth it.”
“I ordered the Big Breakfast with a hot matcha. The café has a cozy and inviting atmosphere, making it comfortable to sit and relax. However, when it gets busy, the noise level can become quite noticeable, which may not be ideal for those looking for a quieter environment.”
“Had a great experience at Bricks and Bread KL! The food was delicious and the coffee was just as good—definitely a spot worth visiting if you’re around. A special shoutout to Razz for the excellent service. He was incredibly warm, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. Really appreciate the hospitality! Will definitely be back again 👍”
