What people say
“Went twice in one day it was so nice. Had the tofu sausage with cheese sauce for breakfast which was phenomenal but really I should have got two. However, I went back and treated myself to the spring rolls and steamed tofu cakes, utterly delicious. Lovely, helpful staff, especially Ang ( hope I spelt right) who was so knowledgeable about the food, an absolute credit to the restaurant, it’s such a nice vibe and surroundings plus reasonable prices. Massively recommend.”
“One of the best vegan food in Vietnam. The food portions was very good. While the bowl of seaweed soup was a little small, it was packed with a lot of ingredients. The environment is very calm and nice. Such a shame we found this on the last day, otherwise we would've come again”
“This is a cool mid sized vegetarian restaurant in Old Quarter Hanoi. We sat on the second floor balcony, with a great view of what was happening in the street below. It's nice to see what's going on, without being on the sidewalk or in the street and having to dodge pedestrians, scooters, bicycles, and cars. We ordered Korean Mixed Rice and Chayfood Fried Rice, both of which were stellar. We also ordered drinks of hibiscus rose and apple goji berry, which we would not order again. Our waiter was friendly, and the food came out fast. Overall it was a good experience here. They accept credit cards. Total cost was 250.000 vnd or about $9.50 usd. We would be happy to return.”
“Absolutely incredible vegan food - there have been a few places I've been disappointed by but this absolutely lives up to its google review score. Was blown away by the Banh Mi, Fried Spring Rolls & Pho. All very light & flavoursome. Will be coming back.”
“Chayfood became our go-to place for dinner in Hanoi. We visited three times and tried a wide variety of dishes: Rice with Thai Curry, Vegan Burrito, Caramel Flan, Pate Bread, Mixed Brown Rice Noodle, Five Colour Spring Roll, Fried Spring Rolls (4 pcs), Pesto Pasta, Miso Ramen, and Cashew Pumpkin Soup. The miso ramen was average, and the caramel flan could have been a little sweeter, but everything else was delicious. The bread stood out in particular - perfectly crisp. They were also kind enough to customize the pesto pasta for us, which we really appreciated. It’s a great place to try vegan versions of traditional Vietnamese dishes. Highly recommended!”
