The tempura was light and crisp, showing good technique without excessive oil. A standout was the clear clam soup—delicate, briny, and deeply satisfying in its simplicity. Even the plum onigiri, a seemingly modest item, was well-executed and comforting. Service was efficient and unobtrusive, made even better by the call button system that allowed us to request assistance exactly when needed. It has quickly become one of my favorite spots in the metro for special occasions, date nights, and business dinners. The first thing that sets this place apart is the ambiance and thoughtful layout. They really embody the concept of "omotenashi" (traditional Japanese hospitality). When we dined here, our group was given a beautiful, minimalist private room at no additional cost. The room features a convenient call button system, meaning you get total privacy to talk and enjoy your meal, but the courteous staff is instantly at your door the moment you need assistance. It creates a very premium, exclusive, and relaxed tone. As for the food, the quality of the ingredients is top-tier and incredibly authentic. The Assorted Sashimi was melt-in-your-mouth fresh, and the Gin Dara Saikyo Yaki (miso-marinated grilled black cod) was perfectly rich, buttery, and flaky. If you want something warm, their Wagyu shabu-shabu or sukiyaki is a must-order—the beef has gorgeous marbling and cooks perfectly in a delicate, clean broth. Even simpler items, like their light and crisp tempura, show excellent kitchen technique without feeling heavy or oily. It is definitely on the pricier side ($$$$), especially if you opt for their multi-course Kaiseki menus, but you are absolutely paying for premium imported quality, pristine execution, and a tranquil atmosphere. I highly recommend calling ahead to reserve one of their private rooms or a spot at their specialized sushi and sake bars. “Hidden gem at Makati! Easily one of my favorite Japanese restaurants here in Manila. I recommend calling ahead and booking a private room here. My family opted to order from their ala carte menu and we were not disappointed! All the fish were very fresh and the cooked food was divine. They have separate rooms where you can eat at the sushi bar or their sake bar! Looking forward to eating here again very soon to try out their set meals. 💝”
