Dr. Wine Poblacion Makati

“Dr. Wine in Poblacion, Makati is an excellent spot for food and friends gatherings. I tried their tapas and sangrias, and everything was very enjoyable. On my first visit it was raining, so I sat by the counter. The bartenders were friendly, chatty, and made the experience even enjoyable. I also took advantage of their happy hour sangria 2x1, which is a great deal. They have a rooftop with a beautiful view of the Manila skyline and Rockwell, which I highly recommend checking out, especially on a clear evening. The music was good and lively, but not overpowering, you can still comfortably have a conversation. Overall, a great atmosphere, good drinks, and a place I recommend a visit if you are in the area.”

“Dr. Wine is easily one of my favorite spots in the city. The vibe is spot on - sophisticated but not stuffy. They have a great selection by the glass. The Bread & Butter Cabernet from California proved to be proper, full-bodied red, a top-tier choice. Great spot for a good glass and a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended!”

“I’m from New York City and working in hospitality and I’m very impressed with this place. Foods great service is decent and the vibes are fantastic. A few small but important things to recommend if I have a chance to speak to the manager: 1. The garnish on the cocktails should be placed on the rim so the customer can squeeze the fruit and put it in the drink instead of fish it out and then squeeze it. 2. I got the sausage platter and you guys serve one small teaspoon of mustard for four huge sausages. More mustard and it would be great if the sausages were served warm or hot like they were fresh. 3. I ordered the pate which was phenomenal. That said the pickles are terrible. They’re soft and sweet instead of the traditional French style firm and sour. I would recommend revisiting these pickles to top off this delicious dish. 4. Last but not least, in the Philippines, your famous for friendly staff. Unfortunately, I did not experience this. The servers and buses and expediters on the roof even on a slow night seemed like robots with no personalities or Warm welcome or interactions.”

“It was our first contact with Manila, not a bad place to start with. The food was good, not the best of the best, but it suits its purpose. The wine was not that great, we had a bottle of rose. (can't remember which one). The thing that really works, it's the location. The views are great, the music is nice, a lovely atmosphere. This is what you're coming for.”

“Overall, a nice place with very good food. The meat in particular was excellent and clearly the highlight of the experience. The quality of the food itself is solid and enjoyable. However, the drinks are not worth it. The red wine was served almost frozen, which is disappointing—especially for a French restaurant, where proper wine temperature is essential. This significantly affected the drink experience. With better attention to beverages, this place could offer a much more balanced dining experience.”
