What people say
“Hitori Shabu at Emsphere is a great spot for authentic Japanese-style shabu. I’d recommend making a reservation in advance because it can get busy. They have a good selection of set meals, and I liked that the set comes with mixed vegetables and dessert. The green tea soft serve ice cream was a perfect ending—light, creamy, and not too sweet. Would definitely come back.”
“The staff members were all super helpful and friendly, and they are extremely attentive with us. First time eating sukiyaki in my life, and eating at hitori shabu was extremely life changing. I ordered the Kaizen soup with fish set, and it was super light and comforting. Super value and highly recommend this place. Thann was really friendly as well from the get go! Thank you!”
“Amazing experience at Hitori Shabu. The food is absolutely delicious and the wagyu is truly high quality. Also drinks such Muscat Hana soda very delicious. Everything is spotless clean, the atmosphere is calm and relaxing, and the prices feel very fair for what you get. Definitely coming back!”
“A sleekly designed shabu restaurant located in Emsphere shopping mall. The lunch experience delivered on many fronts. The broth and ingredients were freshly prepared and quality. Nice setup with the sauces and fresh condiments to the accompany the shabu / suki yaki cooks. Design aspect, I particularly liked the separate room where diners can prefer a more laidback, quiet space to enjoy their meals. I also liked the aesthetical appeal of their stamped tofu pieces. Service initially appeared attentive, but due to our seating in a separate room, it became sluggish and less noticeable. Getting tea refills / assistance took much longer than expected; something that disrupted the flow of the enjoyable meal. The staff doesn't seem to be proactively flourishing and servicing adequately. Another questionable feature - but not too much a letdown since it was enjoyable to eat - was the wagyu beef slice. The photo in their menu otherwise showed beautifully marbled slices, while what we received was noticeable leaner and didn't match what was expected - thus this also became questionable in terms of price point. We paid for a leaner slice, believing the beef to be nicely marbled the wagyu style. On the positive notes, the iberico pork slices were marvelous and so enjoyable - the highlight of the lunch. The rest of the ingredients were also great - from the broth soup to fresh vegetables (that comes along with the set) were great, and so were the ice cream for dessert (they offer a choice of matcha and Hokkaido milk). That said, the experience wasn't too bad but room for improvement is definitely there if the restaurant wants elevated and "premium" level they aim to offer.”
“There was a 30 minute wait, but the food was definitely worth it. Would recommend to anyone who wants to eat Shabu/Sukyaki. Their methods are unique yet cool.”
