“I informed Marlon what I had in mind but I neglected to tell him that my visit was going to be part ink coverup of an old existing tattoo I had. I explained to him that I wanted a half sleeve and what design I wanted and he immediately did his sketch. I initially wanted a Philippine sun as the main focal point of my ink and some Polynesian Tribal designs around the sun BUT he asked me if I wanted to consider a Kalinga design instead of the Polynesian. Of course, being born Filipino, without hesitation, I immediately agreed to his suggestion. After he completed the Kalinga designs, he asked if I would consider having some Baybayin letters and incorporate those with the Kalinga designs and again, of course, I agreed. He made me choose what words I wanted and he then worked on it. I can tell you with all honesty that he did a greaaaaat job on the design given the fact that it was pretty much a design that was done "free-handed". It was'nt copied from anything or off of anyone. It was, in reality, was his own design. Many many thanks, to you, Sir Marlon for a job well done! Kudos. I will be returning in 2027 to the Philippines and will have you complete the rest of my arm (full sleeve). I'm confident that you will do a great job once again.”
