What people say

“Jalan Alor is a spectacular display of Malaysia’s diverse culinary heritage. Walking down this glittering street felt like a whirlwind tour of Asian flavors. The neon signs and red lanterns create a picturesque and nostalgic backdrop that is perfect for photography enthusiasts. The seafood here is exceptionally fresh, and the variety of street snacks is astounding. We tried some stunning coconut ice cream and tender satay skewers that were grilled to perfection. Even though it can get quite hectic and crowded, the service at most stalls is remarkably efficient. It’s a vivid and unforgettable place where you can sit on plastic stools and enjoy a first-class meal under the stars. For anyone looking for an authentic taste of local life, this bustling night market is an essential stop on your KL itinerary. An absolute masterpiece of street culture!"”
“While not as big as some of the Thai or Vietnamese food markets, this place is amazing. It's just one street but it's long and easy to navigate. Many different food options and some great street cafés. Vibrant, bright and lively, just know that it can get a little crowded and loud. But that's all part of the fun. A must visit when you're in Kuala Lumpur.”
“There are no special fees for foreigners at this delicious food paradise (I think). You can enjoy a variety of dishes at the same price as locals in Malaysia. The food all tastes similar, so you'll need some fruit or sweets every now and then. :-). It's best to visit every once in a while,,, as you'll get bored if you go every day.”
“Jalan Alor offers an incredible variety of food choices. I first visited during the Lunar New Year celebrations, but I went back a second time to try even more dishes. Even then, it was packed with a lively mix of locals and tourists.”
“Some decent food spots however pricing is for tourists. Tried a few places and the food was decent however the pricing is for tourists. You can walk out 10 minutes and find locals having the same food for half the price if not less. It’s nice for the vibes and has a lot of foot traffic. Met a few nice people here and had conversations as it’s a tourist hotspot.”
