“I wish I could offer a 5-star review for my eyelid surgery at JW Cosmetic Clinic in HCMC, but the outcome has been a significant disappointment and a life-altering medical ordeal. Surgical Upselling: In June 2025, I sought an eyelid consultation. I was advised that the "midface surgery" is most fitting for me - upper/lower eyelids combined with a lift to minimize the deep folds on both sides of my nose. While the intake was professional, a major ethical issue arose on the day of surgery. After my upper lids were completed by one doctor, and while I was heavily sedated, a second doctor (Dr. Tin) pitched an additional fat graft procedure. Trusting his expertise and compromised by sedation, I processed payment for this new procedure while on the surgical table. This is a practice no patient should ever be subjected to. Post-Operative Infection: Soon after, I developed hardening, dark pimple-like dot under my eyelid. Despite my concerns in a post-op visit, the surgeon dismissed the possibility of infection, claiming "high-quality materials" were used. I was sent away without antibiotics. During my flight back to the US, the infection worsened until pus and yellow blood were pouring down my cheeks on one eye. Upon landing, US emergency doctors found a large, purple-black infection on the other eye. JW Clinic advised US doctors against draining it. US doctors had to manage the crisis with aggressive antibiotics, but the damage was done. A pea-sized, hard mass remained permanent under one eyelid. Failed Revision: I returned to HCMC in October 2025 for a follow-up. Dr. Tin acknowledged that the fat pad had sagged, creating a large bag under one eye, while the other eyelid still has the infection mass. He performed a second surgery at no cost to fix the bag, remove the mass, and re-address the nasolabial folds which had fallen back to their original pre-surgery state. None of the problems were solved. Permanent Complications & Vision Loss: The results of the second surgery are devastating. The pea-size mass was not removed. Instead, excessive scarring now makes the area under my eyelid scarred, firm to the touch, purple now and then, and causing the lid to pull away from my eyeball. Because the eye cannot close properly, my vision has deteriorated from perfect 20/20 to 20/60 due to chronic exposure and dryness. No amount of prescription drops or ointments can stabilize my sight. My vision now fluctuates daily based on dryness, making it impossible to even get a consistent glasses prescription. Current Status (6+ Months Post-Revision) • Vision Impairment: I have permanent vision deterioration and constant discomfort. • Structural Failure: The transplanted fat is now a permanent "bag" under one eye. • Zero Result: The nasolabial fold lift failed again. The crease around the nose is exactly as it was pre-surgery after 1 month. • One eye larger. Because the lower eyelid of one eye does not close properly, it is larger than the other eye. • Thread in eyelid area. This may explain why a red spot shows up now and then under the eyelid. Lessons Learned 1. Never agree to new procedures while sedated on the table. 2. If a clinic dismisses your concerns of infection, seek an independent second opinion immediately. 3. The most expensive clinic in HCMC is not the best. 4. Text-based medical coordination with JW was generic and unhelpful. 5. Eyelid surgery using laser beams instead of knives to cut the skin must have metallic eyeball contact lens covers to protect the eyes. This was never used in JW clinic with the laser beam just 1 mm above my retina the whole time. US doctors are shocked by this safety oversight at JW. I am now under care of US doctors to address these issues to extent they can be fixed, at great cost, risks and suffering. Choosing JW Clinic for what should have been a standard eyelid procedure has turned into a very bad choice for me.”
“I came to this facility as my cousin recommended despite some negative feedbacks from other customers ( I thought they were competitive beauty services). Boy how wrong I was: it IS ABig Fraud!!! My cousin even had a contract with them for a referral fees ( that’s part of the reason I came here) but they turned around and denied this payment, citing that due to my call ( I never did) and other fake excuses. However, the biggest issue I had was their team was so unprofessional that I made me suspected this was a fake facility. The girl who claimed herself to be a doctor , reviewed my medication list and blood test, did not even have a basic knowledge of how medication work. She pronounced terribly wrong on some medicine and did not know what the suffix : Extended Release (ER) or Slow Released ( SR) meant. Right upon the preparation for the surgery, the team had some jokingly conversation to one another that made me feel uncomfortable and that I was going to be one of their experiments. Never come back here.”
“!WARNING! JW Korea "Hospital" in HCMC is a dangerous place to do any serious surgeries. They only want to take your money with their amazing marketing team but ZERO patient care. Procedure: We did breast implant surgery on my partner. 31Jan26. Problems: 1- They made one breast bigger than the other.🤦‍♂️ 2- Huge communication problem - Perfect English online and in marketing. - No English with medical staff, constantly used translator for basic sentences. -They don't give you any materials or evidence in English. Can't keep a copy of what you signed in Vietnamese. As I insist, they sent me some ChatGPT screenshots 🤦‍♂️. 3-Did not see the operating surgeon. Just the shift doctors doing the sales speech visited my partner. After the operation one doctor laughed at her breasts while talking in Vietnamese 😡. 4-They did a different surgery with what the doctor told us (different openings, cuts, and Implant size). 5- They don't take any responsibilities. But their casual staff will give you a plenty of "I'm sorry". Their verbal talk will not save you and you do not want to fly back to Vietnam and see them again to fix their mistake. 6- They will not provide necessary items for the operation and will constantly ask for money. No food for the patients. 7-Their equipments and technology belongs to the lady century. They have old x-ray, old paper cardio... Everything's on paper. 8- Their building is not designed for a hospital. Small toilets and NO BED LIFTS. They forced her on a wheelchair to move her between floors after the operation. 9-The nurse opened a medicine bottle with the rusty edge of the bed before injecting it to her. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SCAM OF THE HOSPITAL CALLED JW Korea.”
“I made a big mistake doing my breast surgery here. They are absolutely focused on the money instead of the patients. They left one of my breasts bigger than the other. The communication with medical staff is next to none due to their lack of English and secrecy. They made me sign papers in Vietnamese without translating or allowing me to keep a copy. Although their marketing team are amazing with fluent English. The building is really old and not designed for a hospital. No bed lifts, making the patient to get off the bed right after the surgery and sit on wheelchair to move out of surgery floor. We could hear pigeon noises from the vent in this photo and see sunlight. 😣 They totally disregarded my medical condition that I’ve discussed before surgery and gave me a medication than made me very unwell (although he changed it on the second day) I suggest save yourself a trouble and run away from these guys.”
“From my overall experience, I found this place to be very sneaky. Please be careful when choosing their services and make sure to ask about all fees upfront, including any additional charges. Otherwise, they may charge you for things you didn’t expect. I didn’t have a good experience with them from the very beginning. Also, if they try to sell you medication, I strongly recommend doing your own research before purchasing.”
