What people say
“Stumbled upon this cozy two/three-storey izakaya in Bangkok—great spot to unwind. They offer beers in sizes from S to XL with some interesting flavors! Not a fan of the Sakura beer, but the passionfruit one was enjoyable. The standout was the Tokyo Snow Popcorn beer—surprisingly smooth, with a strong popcorn aroma but not sweet at all. Easy to drink and highly recommended (thanks to the staff’s suggestion~). Kani Miso Yaki was delicious, especially paired with rice and seaweed. From what I saw, the sashimi looked fresh, and they also serve udon with quail egg. Overall, a nice chill spot that’s worth checking out if you’re nearby.”
“Kenshin Izakaya Asok, located 1.5 km. from Asok BTS Station or Sukhumvit MRT Station on Asok Road near Asok 1 Lane, was a typical casual Japanese restaurant - Izakaya . It was one of the very first Izakaya restaurants in Sukhumvit area where many Japanese experts lived. It served truly authentic casual Japanese dishes which got along well with beers, sake and other alcoholic drinks. Its dining area was like sitting in one of Izakaka restaurants in Japan. Its draft beers were so good and refreshing. Its restroom was set on its 2nd floor where there was an additional dining area opened when its 1st floor seating area was crowded.”
“Great food at reasonable prices. Their skewered sticks are really good. Be sure to try their beef tartar and Tori Tsukune and "Sea Grapes".”
“The place had good vibes and a nice interior — it’s great for setting the mood. However, compared to other izakayas nearby, the service wasn’t very good. It felt like the staff hadn’t received proper service training. Some of the plates were chipped, which was disappointing. In Japanese cuisine, tableware is an important part of the experience, so serving food on broken dishes felt careless. The food was just okay, nothing special. I ordered a large highball, but it didn’t taste like Suntory whisky at all. It would be much better if they added the proper amount of whisky.”
“Looks attractive izakaya but not authentic food flavor... just like thai person cooking Japanese food. I am willing to pay more to have better, authentic Japanese food... I like the female staffs, very friendly and smiling 😃.”
