What people say

“This place was recommended to us by our Airbnb host who also lives in Phnom Penh so we decided to give it a try for the international women’s day and we absolutely loved it! The also treated me (and all other women) with a red rose which was an amazing touch☺️ All dished we tried were very tasty and the service was excellent. Highly recommended! At the end we left and looked for a nice cocktail bar in the area but didn’t like anything, so we went back to this restaurant and enjoying a great cocktail at their balcony outside looking at the alley which was super romantic🤍”
“They reached out to me in the afternoon and requested me to shift to balcony seating as they are fully booked. Which I am fine to accommodate since I am a solo traveller. I had the festive menu. Which overall wasn’t quite to my liking due to the several reasons below. The amuse bouche was alright, the confit egg texture wasn’t too bad. However, the brioche was a little flat to be called a brioche. Overall the taste wasn’t too bad. The skin of the ravioli was a little overcooked but the overall taste was not too bad. The mushroom cream emulsion was tasty and the foie gras fillings is good too. I would appreciate if there could be a little truffle or acidity to balance out the overall creaminess. The bread was a little disappointing, it was cold and felt untoasted. If the bread could have been toasted, it would have been great. The main was quite disappointing. I had the tenderloin medium rare. It tasted burnt and charred (which I only found out towards the end that it is at the bottom of the tenderloin), it left a bad bitter aftertaste. (See picture for the charred/burnt beef.) The potatoes side were alright, just soaked in oil and rosemary. I would expect a little more salt and herbs. Interestingly, the doneness of the beef (medium rare) was right and it does have the right texture. My favourites were the Trou Normand, Christmas liqueur pear sorbet and the dessert. They saved the entire set menu for me. I am glad I ended off with that. IMHO, it’s a little too overrated. ._.”
“We chose this restaurant because it has a relatively high rating compared to other places in the city. Unfortunately, our experience did not meet our expectations. 1. We ordered glass of wine, but it was served with an unusual sediment. The waitress explained that it was sugar, and it is normal, but the glass was not replaced. 2. When we asked for water, we were brought a bottled water that we had to pay for, while other guests were served water from a carafe. 3. The service overall left an unpleasant impression. The waitress appeared unfriendly, and it felt as though we were treated with less attention, possibly because we do not speak French. For example, we waited around 15 minutes for the bill and change, while guests at the next table, who asked for the bill after us, were served first. 4. The quality of some dishes was also questionable: the crab pasta contained pieces of shell, and the croutons served with the camembert were extremely hard. The prices are at a full European level, including service charges automatically added to the bill. For that price, one would expect a higher standard of service and food quality. There are better places in the city at a similar price point, with more attentive service and a welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this restaurant, especially if you do not speak French.”
“Le Langka really feels like a hidden gem in Phnom Penh. Tucked away in a quiet lane, the atmosphere is cozy, warm, and perfect for an intimate dinner. For mains, I ordered the veal tenderloin and the boneless chicken with yoghurt sauce. The veal was beautifully cooked—tender, juicy, and full of flavor, complemented by a red wine reduction sauce with peppercorns that elevated the flavour of the veal which was not gamey at all. The braised boneless chicken was surprisingly memorable too; the yoghurt sauce gave it a refreshing tang that lifted the whole plate. To finish, I had the almond crème brûlée, and it was the highlight of the evening. Creamy, delicate, with the perfect crack of caramelized sugar on top, it balanced indulgence with a subtle nuttiness in the aftertaste that made it stand out from the other crème brûlées I’ve had in the past. Service was attentive yet relaxed, which added to the charm. Prices may be little higher than the average Phnom Penh restaurant, but for the quality of food, cozy ambiance and excellent service provided by its’ staff it is more than fair. Overall, Le Langka is a place I’d recommend for anyone looking for a refined yet welcoming dining experience in the city. When I visit Phnom Penh again I’d definitely return to explore more of the menu.”
“Le Langka remains one of Phnom Penh’s most consistent and well-executed French restaurants. It’s been nearly ten years since my last visit, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that both the quality and flavor have stood the test of time. Few places manage to preserve their standards so faithfully. The meat dishes are exceptional — perfectly cooked, beautifully seasoned, and showcasing a genuine understanding of French technique. Whether it’s steak, duck, or lamb, each plate arrives with balanced sauces and well-chosen accompaniments that highlight the natural flavor of the ingredients. The atmosphere is intimate but not overly formal, with attentive service that complements the food without intruding. Prices remain fair for the quality offered, making it a great choice for both casual fine dining and special occasions. Overall, Le Langka delivers exactly what one hopes for in classic French cuisine — precision, flavor, and consistency. A well-deserved four stars for a restaurant that continues to uphold its reputation after all these years.”
