“A Disaster of a Buffet – Not Worth RM200 I recently had the dinner buffet at Lemon Garden, and for a price tag close to RM200, the food variety and quality were incredibly disappointing. I will definitely not be returning. Here is why: 1.Lacking Choices & Poor Seafood Preparation: I was shocked to find that no Chinese dim sum is served for dinner. The rest of the hot food section completely lacked variety. The only cooked fish option was a whole, bone-in Chinese-style fish. It was served lukewarm, hard to eat, and had a strong, unpleasant fishy smell (鱼腥味). Paying this much for barramundi (premium siakap) is a joke. I also agree with other reviewers that you need to serve shell-less dishes—all the prawns came with shells, making them incredibly messy and difficult to eat. 2.Subpar Seafood Quality: The only other fish options were raw sashimi (salmon, tuna, butterfish). The braised vegetables with fish maw were served cold and carried a heavy fishy odor. To make matters worse, the lobster was clearly frozen and left a distinct, unpleasant 'chemical' aftertaste, while the mussels were full of sand due to improper cleaning. 3.Terrible Drinks & Stale Bakery: The hot green tea was completely tasteless and of exceptionally poor quality—even basic supermarket tea tastes better. The bread selection was rock-hard and clearly not fresh. 4.Disastrous Dessert: The staff claimed the ice cream is homemade, but it tasted like low-quality, mass-produced commercial brands. This was my last visit to Lemon Garden. If you are reading this, please choose wisely and spend your money elsewhere.”
“This used to be my family usual buffet place. The last time we came was before covid. Post covid and with recent visit, I have been quite disappointed with the overall buffet experience. I came here on Saturday just to experience their Seafood Premium Buffet where we were expecting fresh seafood that you can think off ranging from sashimis, lobsters, prawns, mussels, oysters. We were told the hotel stopped serving oysters due to management decision and the lobsters, even though huge size but the meat was mushy and not fresh at all. The prawns were also crying to be thrown away. Utterly disappointed!! The lamb roast, meat was pretty dry to me, didnt want to go for more on this. The chinese section roasted duck and chicken, we requested for a drumstick for my child and the hotel staff was nice enough to make them for us, however they pretty much fried the meat making the skin hard. The desserts, I wasn’t blown away by this, I remembered there used to be more choice or felt a lot more desserts but this seems to be less this time. The only thing that I probably enjoyed most was the Chinese herbal soup, satay and the sashimis. Overall, the hotel has disappointed me and not sure if I will come back to this place anytime soon.”
“We had dinner here 2 evenings in a raw. At the entrance of the restaurant we had a very kind and friendly welcome. Great buffet with a fantastic choice of food from various cuisine: Chinese, Indian, western… Very nice seafood selection with great products. The staff at restaurant was exceptional, both evening we were served mostly by the wonderful Kay (I hope I remember correctly the name), she was very kind and service minded. The dessert buffet was also great. If back in Kuala Lumpur for sure we will visit this place again. Recommend. (Visited January 2026)”
“This is actually our third year coming for the Ramadan buffet, so we were quite happy to return again this year. Unfortunately, this time the experience was a bit unlucky for us. My business partner experienced diarrhea after eating some of the seafood, although of course we cannot be completely certain what caused it. It was still quite worrying for us. At the dessert section, we tried a few macarons (yellow, mint green, and a pinkish red one). The pinkish red macaron tasted quite unpleasant compared to the others. On the positive side, the Malay traditional desserts were fantastic. We really enjoyed them and they were definitely the highlight of the dessert section. One small suggestion about the robot server — it’s a nice idea, but the seating arrangement seems a bit tight for it to move around smoothly. At one point it got stuck behind a guest at the table next to us because there wasn’t enough space for it to pass, which made things a little uncomfortable. We’ve enjoyed the buffet in previous years, so hopefully these small things can be improved for future guests.”
