“Visited Mercy Republic for my first time. It was a brisk 10 mins walk from Asok station. Chill vibe with low lighting and melodic hip hop music. Not too loud, but a bit more than purely BGM. English speaking staff not only seated me and took my order, but also explained the concept of the restaurant. I ordered a coconut smoothie - cold hydrating and moreish. No sweetner added. If I required something sweet, I would want added sugar, or pick a different drink. But considering I ordered a curry, it was spot on! Penang curry was quite spicy (for me). Not "too hot". Bit if you don't like spice, perhaps a 'mai pet' version required. The mushroom tonkatsu had a lovely batter. And the mushroom was a nice consistency - not chewy as can sometimes be the case. Small naan bread was a nice addition. It gave me something to mop up my curry sauce with. Menu is extensive. Well worth a visit for laid back vegan eats!”

“I found one of the coolest vegan restaurants in Bangkok last night—Mercy Republic—and it ended up being an unforgettable experience. It’s about a 20-minute walk from my hotel and a bit off the beaten path, so it took a little navigating—but that just added to the charm. Once inside, I loved the vibe immediately. It’s small, dark, and cozy, with an intimate feel that makes you want to stay awhile. The atmosphere was next level. The DJ was spinning 80s and 90s soul, setting the perfect mood for the night. It felt more like a lounge experience than just dinner. Service was just as impressive. My waiter was super friendly and took the time to walk me through the menu, which made ordering easy and enjoyable. I had the fried minced homemade tofu stir-fried with holy basil over riceberry, an iced lime butterfly pea juice, and finished with a vegan layered ice cream parfait. Every single dish was delicious. After dinner, I even went up to thank the DJ because the music was so good—and it turns out the DJ was Mercy G, the owner. That personal touch made the whole night even more special. If you’re in Bangkok and looking for something unique, this spot is definitely worth checking out. Be A Proud American peace/love”

“Do you love a good burger? Do you love Hip Hop? Then definitely come here! To me, this is like a dream place. And all vegan. The staff is also trained really well and super attentive. Definitely a must-visit place while in Bangkok. What a vibe! Thanks for creating this place.”

“Nice hipster venue. However, we’re totally disappointed. Food needs big improvement. The mango smoothie felt like it was mainly ice and only a little bit of mango, not good quality. We also had the Mexican wrap which was very small and could only taste spice (wouldn’t mind the small size if it was delicious). Burger was okay but nothing special. We have eaten at a lot of vegan places and this place is very expensive for what you get. Parking is difficult and expensive (50 baht per hour). Recommend going to other vegan restaurants in the area, they are much better. We always appreciate a vegan place, but we need to be honest! As we’ve seen the owner’s response, we know now that our voices won’t be listened to and honest feedback won’t be considered here.”
