What people say

“By far the worst fine dining restaurant in Manila. I have booked a table for one during lunch as a hotel guest and found a lot of shortcomings in terms of foods and services. - I have asked for the house water together with the drink menu. Although the staffs understood my requirements, only the mocktail ordered had been served and they decided to leave the water glass empty for the whole meal - The white asparagus is well-cooked but the hollandaise sauce 's scent and flavour are too strong to deteriorate the flavour of caviar and the touches of osmanthus and pomelo - The bouillabaisse which chef insisted a classic French came up with the ingredients such as scallop, octopus and sourdough which do not appear in the traditional way. I have expected assorted kind of fish, and a nice piece of baguette instead. Moreover, the turbot, especially the fillet adjacent to the fish skin was undercooked with an intolerant fishy taste. - The pork lechon was inconsistent in terms of cooking level. I have found the edge of pork chop was a bit overcooked, dry and tasteless. Moreover, the service for this course is extremely peculiar as the staffs forgot to arrange the utensils. They came back five minutes later with knife and fork together with the most insincere apology I have ever heard. - The service within the staff team is not harmonising. The gentleman staff placed the flute glass on my table while the other lady brought another one together with a bottle of mocktail, so he tried to remove his glass while his colleague had conducted the service. This was also reinforced by the main course service which the same male staff brought the folded table and tray for table side preparation. Once he finished, another lady asked him to replace the folded table with the other. - These concrete examples can elaborate what happened in the restaurant which I was the only customer until the dessert course. Therefore, I would like to suggest everyone to avoid this restaurant at all costs.”
“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding 5-Star Experience Spent my birthday dinner at Old Manila and it was incredible! At ₱5,500 per head for the 3-course set menu, it's worth every peso. Last night's theme brought a beautiful rustic, country-inspired explosion of flavors to the table. The le crabe appetizer was great, but the absolute star was the steak with its savory, umami-rich mustard sauce. Ended the night with a gorgeous le fraisier strawberry dessert, followed by hot tea and delicate chocolates. Superb food, sophisticated ambiance, and wonderful service. Will definitely be back!”
“Old Manila’s new menu is an excellent curation of fine French cuisine with a local Filipino flair. This is the proper way to do French food in the Philippines. The must-try dishes are the 1- Turbot: perfectly fried skin with enough fat to make you think you are having a pork dishes. 2- Le Cochon: perfectly cooked tender pork with an inasal flavor and tomato sauce. 3- Le Langouste: the lobster from Palawan is firm and fresh, lots of flavor and very satisfying. 4- The Beef: so tender and soft and perfectly seasoned.”
“Great food and great service. It was a good fine dining experience and left me satisfied in the end. We went with the chef’s menu, and he delivered. Note that with any fine dining experience, the portions are to be smaller but with elevated flavours. Some I did enjoy, some I enjoyed less, but the service of the team made the night very enjoyable!”
“Great date place if you’re into an intimate & elegant place. The menu is not super extensive but great quality. Wine and drinks selection is good! Love their birthday cake surprise, service is superb!”
