“I recently visited Oscar’s for buffet lunch for the first time and arrived at approximately 12:35pm. Upon entering, I noticed that there were still many empty tables available. As I walked around the buffet counters to view and record the food selections, I found that the overall variety of dishes was rather limited compared to my expectations. I also observed that the staff stationed at the seafood and sashimi counters appeared unsmiling and somewhat reluctant when serving guests. The seafood section offered only four types of seafood, and the oysters had run out during my visit. Unfortunately, the chef responsible for the station did not seem to notice that the tray was empty. The sashimi section served only two varieties—salmon and tuna. In addition, the staff were serving only two to three small slices per guest. When I politely requested a larger portion, I was given only one additional slice, which came across as unnecessarily restrictive for a buffet setting. I tried Oscar’s signature laksa, which I found to be average in taste. I also sampled small portions of most of the other dishes, but none stood out as particularly memorable. Overall, my dining experience was disappointing. Given the reputation and pricing of the buffet, I had expected a wider selection of food, more attentive replenishment of popular items, and a warmer, more welcoming service experience. I hope this feedback will be helpful in improving the buffet experience for future guests.”
“Enjoyed our Mother’s Day brunch buffet at Oscar’s. The spread was good, with fresh food and a great variety, and the service was attentive and friendly too. Of course, there are still some areas that could be improved. The tomahawk was rather chewy, and a better bread knife would help as it was quite difficult to slice the loaves. On the other hand, the beef at the BBQ section was much better, and we especially loved the BBQ lobsters, butter chicken, and freshly prepared naan. Desserts were decent, while the ice cream was good. The fresh waffles were nice too, though some were served cold which made them less enjoyable. I also found the laksa gravy a little too thick for my liking. Overall, it was still a very enjoyable experience and we’ll definitely be back again!”
“Service was very friendly and attentive. Food spread is good, especially with the baked oysters and super big scallops. Very shiok to bite into the succulent fat scallops. But generally I think the quality of the food is not as good as Basilico. Still good, but think Basilico is even better. Maybe one thing that stands out is the live station. The freshly cooked pasta topped with cheese from the cheese wheel is very shiok. With mushrooms and cream sauce. The spread of bread was also good. Nice compliment to the array of cheeses. The desserts here were pretty good tho. And I like it that many of the dessert dishes are Christmas themed.”
“I wanted to send a quick note to let you know what a fantastic time we had at Oscars on the evening of 23/05/26. Thanks to Pravathi and Jason, our night was truly special. From the moment we sat down, they made us feel incredibly welcome. Their friendly energy and great recommendations really enhanced our evening, and the service they provided made the whole experience memorable. We also want to thank you for arranging a cake to celebrate my son’s birthday , it was such a lovely touch and we really appreciated it. Please make sure to pass our heartfelt thanks along to them!”
“Had ala carte lunch and dinner (plus the included breakfast buffet) during my stay. Breakfast selection was on the smaller side but reasonable spread. Lunch - had their seafood CKT. Was tasty, and had extra sambal and chilli to go with it. Dinner - had the chilli crab brioche and mushroom soup. Lunch and dinner had better service than the morning rush. (Thanks Paru).”
