Sacred Lotus - Vegan - Café x Hostel | Phnom Penh

“We had a very nice stay at this vegan homestay. The room with a double bed was comfortable, and the air conditioning worked very well. The room is not very large, but it’s big enough to store your belongings and move around easily. The only thing to note is that the room is located within the dormitory area, so privacy is somewhat limited. The bathrooms and toilets were clean. The staff were extremely kind and helpful, and they gave us great advice for the next steps of our trip 🤍 The vegan food was absolutely delicious. We had the chance to try many dishes — the Khmer soup and the different curries were especially good. We highly recommend this place !!”

“Super cute vegan cafe & guest house, owned and operated by the nicest young couple and the mother chef. Food is a great mix of Khmer and Western and there’s something for everyone. Portion sizes and prices are reasonable and food was delicious. I tried a Khmer dish which I can’t recall the name of, and their famous mushroom burger, both were outstanding. I will definitely be back!”

“We went there one time first to eat and then we decided to book for two nights before our flight back. The food was really good and filling, prices are okay considering it's an all vegan restaurant and not street food. Around 3-5$ per dish so depending on what you get on top of that for drinks and stuff it's around 10$ per person. For the rooms it was more on the minimalist side but for me I didn't mind at all and it was still comfortable. Nice rooftop chilling spot and it was really quiet. They have a billboard full of other vegan friendly suggestions of things to do in Cambodia. And the staff is super friendly, can't recommend enough !”

“Overall, the dorm and beds, the shower/toilet/sink area, and the rooftop and its furniture are all tired and worn out. More fans could be provided for the rooftop area. In the dorm, the ac isn't turned on until 8pm. The ac remote is not kept in the room, must request if before 8pm. The dorm room is always hot! The two private rooms that I did see do not have windows. I believe there are rooms on the rooftop that may. They have strict rules about bringing non-veg foods onto the premises. They do have their own cafe downstairs but I found the food to be a bit bland and overpriced.”

“I hate giving such a low review to a vegan place as I always like to support vegan businesses. However, beware that the high rating on google maps is probably refering to the cafe, NOT the accomodation, and it’s probably my fault that I didn’t read the reviews in enough depth. I booked a private room (which tbf i don’t think you can see any photos of online), and it wasnt all that private: the room is inside a shared room with bunkbeds. It smells incredibly musty, sweaty, bad. SO, so bad. No windows. Honestly, I’m not picky when it comes to accomodation, I’ve slept on flors and outdoors, but I had to leave and change hotels. The place is probably decent for it’s price if you know what you’re going in for; I’d say a 2/5, probably.”
