SALT & FIRE Rooftop Bar

“I visited this place at night, and it was extremely hot and humid. I’m not sure whether the temperature is more comfortable during the morning, but the lack of airflow made the experience less enjoyable. Access to the bar is via an elevator that feels quite old and cramped, which wasn’t the best first impression. The venue has a large number of tables, but they are positioned very close together. If you’re seated in the middle section, it can feel significantly warmer than other areas due to the limited ventilation. Guests seated along the sides may find that the nighttime views are fairly limited. Another issue was the number of flies around the dining area, which frequently came near the food. The building itself houses multiple businesses and occupies several floors, but I found the parking area a bit uncomfortable, especially at night. Some sections felt poorly lit and somewhat eerie, which made arriving and leaving less pleasant. The parking ramp was also fairly narrow, requiring extra caution when driving through it. While it wasn’t a major issue, improvements to the lighting and ease of access would help create a more welcoming experience for visitors to the building. Service was disappointing during my visit. I was seated in a corner and spent quite a while trying to get a staff member’s attention for tissues and the bill. Despite waving and making multiple attempts to be noticed, no one came over, and I eventually had to walk to the staff myself. I believe the venue would benefit greatly from additional fans or improved ventilation, especially during warmer seasons. On a positive note, the food was decent, and I had no major complaints about the quality of the dishes. Overall, the atmosphere and service need improvement, but the food itself was satisfactory. (Need a reservation for better seating area)”

“Nothing great except the views. Service is pathetic!! Firstly i had to wait 20 mins to get my table irrespective of booking well in advance. It took 30 mins for them for someone to ask for the order. After taking the order it took 30 mins to just bring the water and 40 minutes to bring the food! They have managed to pull the crowd but failed to deliver a great service! I believe they should hire more staff!! The place is definitely under staffed. It seems 1 person is catering to 10 tables. Owner definitely needs to increase the staff!”

“Chiang Mai has some really great restaurants, and this unfortunately didn’t meet the bar. At best, it was average. Key takeaways for improvement: appetizers should arrive before the mains, food should be served hot rather than lukewarm, and the decor could use some attention. The food itself tasted OK, but the service wasn’t the best.”

“Salt & Fire Rooftop Bar has a great atmosphere with beautiful rooftop views and very attentive staff. The cocktails were well-balanced, the wine selection was impressive, and overall the drinks were definitely the highlight of the experience. The food was decent, but compared to the quality and portion size, it felt slightly overpriced. Still, it’s a nice place to relax and enjoy the evening in Chiang Mai.”
