What people say

“What a delightful way to spend the morning! We tasted fruit at the market and were introduced to all the aromatics needed for the curry paste we made later. Then when we got to the farm we saw a myriad of exotic plants, spices, vegetables and fruits, picking what we needed for the cooking class. The class itself was well run, easy to follow instructions and a lot was prepped for us. Of course everything was cleaned up after us as well. The food we cooked was so delicious, and generous! We had 2 entrees, 3 mains and a dessert. We certainly left well fed and very happy. I loved the experience and it was great value for money and time.”
“We had such a beautiful experience at Taman Dukuh Farm Cooking School. We chose the morning class, which started with a visit to the local farmers market. It was so interesting to see the fresh produce, spices, tempeh, and flowers used for daily offerings — a lovely glimpse into local life. At the farm, we enjoyed a guided walk through their lush and thoughtfully designed gardens. The team was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing how the ingredients are grown and used. We even picked fresh produce ourselves before the cooking began. The class was well organised, relaxed, and really fun. The staff were warm, friendly, and had a great sense of humour, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious — from satay sauce and curry paste to corn fritters, sweet and sour tempeh, and fresh garden greens. Everything was full of flavour and such a treat 😋 I love cooking and felt so inspired by all the new ideas and techniques I learned. But honestly, even if you are not into cooking, this experience is something special and memorable. Thank you for such a wonderful day. We absolutely loved it ❣️”
“We had the most amazing morning. Visit to the market which was very informative and fascinating seeing all the local foods on offer. Wayan was so helpful kind and a great instructor. Picking our own vegetables was great and the cooking experience was beyond fun not to mention tasty and we would highly recommend doing it. Food was fab, setting absolutely stunning and just such an unforgettable experience!!!”
“We had such an amazing time doing this cooking class as a couple! Everything was perfect, the flavors were incredible, the welcome was so warm, and we especially loved the walk through the garden where we learned about all the plants and ingredients. 🌱 It made the experience feel really authentic and unique. One of our favorite memories in Bali. Highly recommend!🤩”
“I attended the Ubud Evening Firefly Watching Tours & Experience Balinese Traditionally Life and was looked after by Made, who was truly wonderful. I was unexpectedly the only attendee on the tour, which meant that I was able to ask a seemingly endless stream of questions, which Made always answered with so much genuine enthusiasm and care - his love for Bali and his local community was beautiful to experience. The tour started with a welcome drink (tea or coffee) and some local fruits, before a tour of the farm. I then had an incredible meal, which they can cater according to your dietary needs/preferences - the veggie meal was beautiful!! Following dessert, Made and I drove to his home, where he explained how Balinese homes are traditionally structured, and also about naming conventions and other cultural aspects within Balinese families/communities, all of which were so fascinating to learn about. We then went to the rice terraces to see the fireflies - it had been a pretty rainy evening, so I was prepared to not see any, but we still managed to see quite a few and it was such a beautiful sight!! My highlight of the tour was undoubtedly sitting under the night sky, watching the fireflies and learning even more about Balinese culture from Made. Once the tour was over, Made drove me back to the Ubud meeting point and we continued our discussions throughout, before I arrived safely back in Ubud. Over the 4 hours I learnt an unbelievable amount about Balinese people and their culture - I really can’t thank Made enough, his love for Bali was infectious and actually made me quite emotional at times. If you’re in Bali, I consider this a must if you want to understand more about the wonderful island you are visiting and its people. I would definitely come back to do the cooking class any other available experiences in the future. Thank you to everyone involved in this tour!”
