“I got scammed into eating here by the 4,9 star rating at almost 13k reviews. It was meant to be a special birthday meal for my husband. We traveled across town just to eat here. Came mid afternoon for a very late lunch. The place was basically empty, so no wait time. The waiter/waitress was super sweet and attentive. That was about the best thing about our experience at this place. The smoothies were alright and so were the tempura shrimps. The restaurant does put effort into presenting the food well which is deceiving - cause it doesn’t taste half as good as it looks. I had a green curry with duck and pineapple. I’ve had hundreds of green curries in Thailand over the years and this was not very nice tasting + the consistency was on the gooey side. They were generous with the pieces of duck. However, the lamb was well overdone and chewy. The biggest disappointment was my husband’s T-bone steak. It was covered in a weird tasting sauce. He asked for medium rare and it came super well done. The meat tasted as if it had been sitting in the fridge for ages…just old and very very chewy. He didn’t even eat half of it. The potatoes were extremely oily and only half cooked on the inside. The garlic bread was stale and dusty. The whole meal was just one big let down. We’ve had excellent, authentic, heavenly delicious meals for less than half the price we paid here. Again, such a shame as it was meant to be a special birthday meal.”

“Had an amazing experience at Island Restaurant! 🇹🇭 Tried the Mango Sticky Rice and the Thai Milk Cold Tea, and both were absolutely incredible. The mango sticky rice was perfectly sweet with creamy coconut sticky rice and fresh, juicy mango - easily one of the best desserts I’ve had in Thailand. And the Thai milk cold tea was refreshing, rich, and perfectly balanced - the ideal drink in Bangkok’s heat. If you visit, these two are an absolute must-try. Highly recommended! Mai, the manager was fabulous as well.”

“Every time we are in Bangkok we go to this restaurant, just the best!🧡 Great place for delicious food at a very good price, the portions are generous and you definitely get a lot for what you pay. The drinks are amazing as well, super tasty and well made.🍹🥘🥟🥥 The staff is very friendly and attentive, and they actually ask whether you want your food spicy or not, which is a nice touch.🥰 The location is perfect, right on the corner of the street where you can enjoy watching the lively scenery around you. On top of that, there’s no loud music.. just a relaxed, chill vibe that makes it a great place to sit and enjoy your meal.🫶🏼”

“An absolutely wonderful place in every way. The staff were incredibly attentive and even went out of their way to help solve the little problems we experienced. The atmosphere, the flavors, and the variety of dishes were all amazing. It was also very thoughtful of them to clearly offer information about the types of meat used in the dishes for those who cannot eat certain foods. I will definitely visit again when I return to Bangkok.”

“the vibes of the restaurant was immaculate, loved the design and auditory elements of the wind chimes. moreover, the actual food and beverages were absolutely wonderful. the panang & green curry was such a delight to have, and so were the thai milk teas and espresso martini cocktail! lastly the staff was especially hospitable and friendly! shoutout to server arru who truly made the experience top notch! thank you the island, will strongly recommend!!”
