“You know the music is good when you have to get there early (around 7) & grab a seat inside, because it fills up quickly & the crowd spills into the street! Awesome jazz, I saw the Nice Boys on a Thursday night. Great mixed crowd of locals & tourists all vibing with the live music. Will definitely come another night to check out other bands & maybe the open mic!”

“The place is small yet so popular. Good luck finding a place to sit (or even to stand) indoor if you don't come early enough. I recommend coming before 8PM if you want to sit inside, but if you're fine with standing outside you can come anytime. The band was great, the drink prices are affordable.”

“Make sure you get there before 7 to get seats for the 7:30 show on the 4th floor. There is a bar on the floor that serves great craft cocktails. About 300 baht a drink but delicious. There is another show at 8:30 downstairs. It gets super crowded so I’d get there 45 min before if you want to sit! We had to stand outside the door and watch haha. Still worth it tho. The bands are great and so is the atmosphere.”

“5 stars for the atmosphere is not enough. I am so sorry for people that come visit Chiang Mai & don’t get to experience this place. This vibe is an actual vibe. The musicians are so professional and so groovy, I could listen to them all day, every day (No wonder they work so every day). My partner and I stayed in Chiang Mai for 5 nights & we basically had daily exploring with a chill night at The North Gate Jazz. Amazing!! Thanks for the vibe & keep up with great energy. “Excellent music at a very cool space, however it is so popular with tourists that if you don’t arrive close to opening you likely won’t find space inside. There is also a top floor bar where openers play from 7:30-8:30 that provides a very intimate experience, with outdoor porch seating for ~6 tables on the 4th floor as well Main area has limited first floor seating, with some standing room available on the second floor Crowds often spill into the road during the main band”
