The Sportsman Sports Bar and Restaurant

“Enjoyed an amazing roast pork Sunday lunch for only 199 baht (chicken, beef, lamb available). Together with a pot of tea the total bill was 289 THB. No ++ addition of service charge and VAT to advertised price here This is a huge long established bar on 2 floors, showing a huge variety of global sports live, Pool is huge here with tables upstairs and down, catering for casual players up to hosting regular competitions. Has an extensive food menu with daily specials, and over a circa 20 draft beers to choose from at very competitive prices. 150THB for a large beer Lao draft for example, I’ve not found one cheaper in Bangkok. An extremely well run and managed bar, especially on the second floor where I had lunch(slightly more focussed on pool upstairs). The service was excellent too- happy to leave a tip. It can get very busy upstairs and down, on weekend evenings and during major sporting events. On these occasions it might be advisable to book via Facebook if coming with a group. Located on Sukhumvit Soi 13, a short walk less that 10 minutes from Nana BTS.”

“The Sportsman is a huge two-story sports bar with lots of pool tables, darts, and even a shuffleboard table, if you're into that. We frequent this place somewhat regularly because it's a perfect place to relax, grab a few drinks, and sink some shots. There's also plenty of bar food available. The staff is polite with friendly and somewhat fast service. The downsides? Every now and then, I see a mistake on my bill and have to ask them to correct it. It's not a big deal, but something to be aware of. This last visit, I noticed that they don't have many working sets of darts because most them are broken. Again, these are minor things. Overall, I love this place and will keep coming for some quality pool and good drinks.”

“If you’re looking for a great sports bar in downtown Bangkok, this is the place to go! Great staff and management team will take care of you while you’re there. They tuned in one of the Stanley Cup playoff games for me today. Great food, great drinks, and all around relaxing place to visit.”

“We had a great night at The Sportsman. It’s a big, laid-back sports bar with plenty of screens and pool tables, so there’s always something to do. We grabbed a beer tower of Asahi to share and ordered a bunch of snacks—onion rings, fries, nachos with cheese and jalapeños, and some grilled chicken. The food was just what you’d hope for in a sports bar: hot, tasty and perfect for sharing. The onion rings were crispy, the nachos were cheesy without being soggy, and the beer tower kept everyone’s glass full. The vibe is fun but chill—you can watch a game, shoot some pool or just hang out. Service was friendly and fast even when it started to get busy. If you’re after a casual spot to catch a match or just hang with friends over drinks and bar food, this place does the job really well.”

“Phoned the venue in the morning to book a seat to watch F1. Spoke to a friendly English guy who helped me and advised it’s best to book as venue gets very busy. I duly turned up and my seat was clearly marked right in front of a very large clear TV. All the staff were really helpful and friendly making sure we all had drinks and food if required. The venue is huge and indeed was very busy to see live F1. Great hospitality and atmosphere to watch live sports events. Thank you.”
