“Stumbled upon this cozy spot while staying at Mercure Icon for a few nights, and it turned out to be a great find. Was served by a friendly guy named Ian, which made the experience even better. The vibe is relaxed with subtle background music, perfect for unwinding. They’ve got a solid selection of beers from Chinese breweries, both on tap and in cans—and I love that the ratings are synced with Untappd, makes exploring new brews a lot more fun. Definitely worth checking out if you’re nearby 🍻”

“Upwards Taproom. A pretty chill and relaxing place with Alfresco seating which provided a great ambience between the streets to the shop playing music. The beer ordered was Number 4. Her Story. The owner was really pleasant to talk and give a rundown to beers that are not only for the patrons who are serious on their beer but to those who likes to have a lighter fruiter tasting drink. Overall more peeps should definitely come and try. A great, quiet and underrated place.”

“Great little find attached to the Mercure Icon Hotel. Visited most nights for about 10 days and tried most of the excellent beer selection, which changes almost daily. Some quite unusual beers on offer but universally excellent. The matcha beer and some of the fruity sours were my favourites. Staff were brilliant and very friendly, hence it became my go to spot. Hotel residents get 10% off and they have a happy hour from 3 til 7pm. Highly recommend and you'll end up going back again..and again! I'll miss this place. “Overall a very nice experience here at Upward. A great selection of craft beers from different places. At point of writing review, we had a sour and two hazies. All three were amazing! This is complemented with delicious skewers, replenished when ordering my third drink. Pork belly and lamb skewers were well marinated and bbqed. Boss and crew were exceptionally friendly, introducing the selection of tap beers and bring the beers to the table. Enjoyed the recommendations.”
