What people say
“Wah Lok is a standout Cantonese restaurant located inside the Carlton Hotel, and it truly impressed our whole family. The taste is excellent—authentic, refined, and consistent. We booked a private room that comfortably fits around 16–20 people, which is perfect for big families like ours who love Chinese food. I’m usually not a huge fan of Cantonese cuisine, but I have to admit the food here is genuinely very good. The kids absolutely loved the Peking Duck, while my personal favorite was the steamed fish—fresh, delicate, and cooked just right. Parking is plentiful at the hotel, although traffic on Sukhumvit Road can be quite heavy during peak hours. Still, it’s worth the trip. Portions are generous; dishes for four can easily feed more, so it’s great for sharing. Overall, I highly recommend Wah Lok for special occasions, family gatherings, or anyone looking for high-quality Cantonese dishes in a comfortable setting.”
“I usually visit Hong Kong and Singapore, but during my recent trip to Thailand I had the pleasure of dining at Wah Lok Cantonese Restaurant, located in the Carlton Hotel Bangkok Sukhumvit. The ambience was amazing, and the taste of the food was even better than expected. The presentation was beautiful, and the service was polite, attentive, and fast. Special thanks to the lady who assisted us with our table — unfortunately I missed her name — but her service was truly appreciated. Kudos to the chef as well; the dishes were outstanding. You have a great team and wonderful attitude. +1 for this restaurant. Cheers — see you next time!”
“I’ve traveled extensively to Hong Kong and absolutely adore Cantonese cuisine. Wah Lok might just be the best Cantonese restaurant in all of Thailand. The staff is extremely helpful and attentive, and their Peking duck and combination fried rice were absolute perfection. The lower reviews don’t truly reflect what a fantastic establishment this is—I observed some customer behavior while dining, and many patrons were quite obnoxious. Give this place a try; you won’t be disappointed!”
“Wah Lok truly lives up to its reputation. The dim sum is excellent across the board. The crispy shrimp rice noodle roll is an absolute must try. So good and completely unforgettable. The Baked BBQ Pork Bun is slightly on the sweeter side, but still delicious and definitely not to be missed. A solid choice for classic Cantonese dim sum that delivers on quality and flavor. The service is excellent and truly lives up to the standards of Carlton Hotel Bangkok Sukhumvit. The staff are attentive, polite, and very professional, which really elevates the whole dining experience. You can also use a KTC credit card to get a discount, which makes it even more worth it.”
“The food are pretty delicious. I literally like every dish we ordered today. Unfortunately, we weren't able to order the second plate of deep fried crispy pork because after we ordered the first plate someone just made a reserve for the remaining ones! as well as the steamed fish. To pick the one outstanding dish it would be the Peking Duck. The duck skin was perfectly deep fried with all the fat ripped out. The duck meat was separated into 2 menus: sauteed with sweet&sour sauce and pan fried. Recommended to add this ppace into your must-visit-once Chinese restaurant. The one bad thing is about the traffic in this area is hectic! and the parking tower of this hotel is quite tight for big cars.”
