What people say
“WM Yataro This Japanese Shop is collaborated with Wa Min Company and Yataro Ramen Shop. You can get Japanese Ramen and Curry Rice. I tried Ae Dama and it's a little salty. Also quite pricey for a bowl. The interior design is decorated like a Japanese Ramen Shop but the music is too loud for me.I ate alone and shop staff opened thingyan song loudly.I suggest to open calm music like piano playing.”
“A big disappointment to say the least. TLDR I suspect the other reviews on here are fake/paid. Before dining here I saw the great reviews about how the price is cheap and the food is “authentic” This is the embodiment of some country side villager pretending to understand Japanese but the only Japanese he knows is “NARUTOO” You will not find any authentic Japanese food here. It is simply a disrespectful Burmese rip off. I suspected it from the “Yakisoba” which oddly looked too similar to Burmese “Koutswe thote/ခေါက်ဆွဲသုပ်” and their new item which aren’t seen in a typical ramen restaurant like “spicy and sour Ramen” However, I will give them the credits that the food was indeed decent. I believe the locals would enjoy it. While not to my liking, I did finish most of the food (I was also hungry, so yeah). My partner did not finish as much as me though, (she is a local) though I found the pork ribs in her ramen to be tasty and cooked really well. [she brought that spicy and sour “ramen”] The problem I had with the restaurant is that I expected too much honestly. I expected decent authentic Japanese food. I order the tan tan men. But was given some watery soup with sesame paste and seed. It was COMPLETELY OFF IN TASTE AND TEXTURE AND FRAGRANCE from the real thing. Very extremely disappointed by it. (I was so looking forward to a good tantanmen) Other problems I had include, the fact that the restaurant only had 3 tables…. (And they were all empty until us) and despite being a “Japanese restaurant” they were freaking playing Burmese new year songs…omg so many damn times…. Other minor issues were the cheap and thin plastic spoons…. Like come on man…… spoons aren’t that expensive…. Can’t believe I paid around 25000 for 2 people and got such quality…. Utterly ridiculous. If anything, please just don’t get the disrespected tantanmen. Maybe other items are better, or simply suits the local taste buds well. I however would not recommend or return sadly :( thank you.”
“The people of that restaurant are very kind and the service is really good. You can use free Wi-Fi while having delicious foods. The food is also nearly 100% similar to real Japanese food. I highly recommend this restaurant if you want to try Japanese food in Myanmar.😊😊”
