“The food was mostly impressive, the ones that didn’t impress me were most likely due to personal taste (the curry pasta, curry rice). Some starters were incredibly memorable like the gunkan. Staff were well mannered. However… we arrived about 10 minutes past our reservation time (8.40pm) due to some issues with the valet. Food came in very quickly, and we had eaten about 10 dishes by 9.45pm. The pacing for each dish was so rushed, we were served the next meal less than 1-2 minutes after. Barely had any time to pace ourselves. Chef’s started cleaning up and it was getting distracting as we were trying to take some birthday photos. Waitress kept nicely asking if she could remove the plates, and she even removed all our utensils. After blowing out the candle to my cake, we didn’t have any plate or spoon to eat the cake with. They also served all the desserts at the same time and I believe it was meant to be served one after another (from watching the previous diners). All staff were rushing to close. Respectful team verbally, but actions wise shows disrespect. We asked to put the two dessert dumplings in a take away box, but it wasn’t given to us. We felt so unwelcomed and also rushed out. We left thinking that it was given to us with our birthday cake but realized that it wasn’t given to us. 14 course in slightly over an hour is slightly mad. Please do better or don’t accept reservations after 8.30 🙏🏻”

“From the service to decor, the dining experience at Hide manages to be both warm and inviting as well as clean and modern. I also appreciate the quiet confidence in the menu. Dishes may appear to be simple but are quite complex, incorporating techniques and flavors from other cuisines and food cultures. That being said, every dish was wholesomely enjoyable as opposed to just intellectually interesting. A real gem!”
