“This is my response to the reply given to my review. 1. You stated that the situation cannot be understood over the phone. My condition was clearly explained in Thai before the appointment, including that I had a previously treated root canal. There was no misunderstanding. 2. You said treatment depends on seeing the tooth. That does not justify giving an appointment and making a patient wait two days if there is a clear possibility that no treatment will be done. 3. You mentioned that infection may require a specialist. Since it was already explained that I had a prior root canal, this possibility was obvious. If you do not have a specialist for such cases, you should have clearly stated this in advance instead of asking me to come in. 4. You referred me to another clinic. Referring a patient without explanation or proper coordination is not acceptable. 5. You mentioned that your receptionist is not a doctor. This is an internal issue. Patients should still be given accurate and responsible guidance. 6. You mentioned weather conditions. This is irrelevant and avoids the real issue, which is poor communication and mismanagement. 7. The clinic you referred me to told my girlfriend in Thai that “foreigners are difficult to deal with, so the price is double.” Making such assumptions without even knowing the patient is unacceptable. 8. Despite all this, I was still charged an examination fee for something that could have been clarified in advance. This was not a misunderstanding, but a clear case of poor communication, improper referral, and lack of professionalism. On November 17, my Thai girlfriend called the clinic and clearly explained my tooth situation in Thai. She told them that my tooth had a half-completed root canal and that I needed a full root canal treatment somewhere else. Even though she explained everything in their own language, this situation still happened. They gave me an appointment for Wednesday, so I waited two days. On the appointment day, I drove to the clinic in very heavy rain. After checking my tooth, they told me they would not do the procedure and said it was a simple root canal. Then they sent me to another clinic — Dr. Smiley Plus — without even making an appointment, and only gave me a business card. When I called Dr. Smiley Plus, they told me they charge double the price for foreigners because “foreigners are difficult to deal with.” Even after all of this, I still had to pay a 200 baht examination fee. Why did I have to wait two days and come to your clinic on a rainy day just to hear this? And why are you sending me to Dr. Smiley Plus, a clinic with terrible Google reviews — the same clinic I specifically avoided because of those bad reviews? I am very unhappy and very upset about how this was handled.”

“I tried to find a clinic on Koh Samui but there were no available appointments and some clinics don’t do extractions every day. I ended up calling 5–6 places before finding this one and I’m so glad I did The doctor was incredibly kind and gentle. I’m usually very scared of needles, especially when it comes to tooth extractions but the injection was so gentle that I barely felt any pain at all. I actually needed to have 2–3 teeth extracted but I only managed to do one this time because I was nervous. Even so, the experience was much better than I expected and it really gave me the confidence to come back again for the rest. The staff were all very friendly and I’m really happy I chose this clinic 😊”

“I got an emergency while on holiday and my personal doctor told me I have to remove tooth as soon as possible, so I start to looking for a dental clinics in koh Samui. I needed emergency removal on the same day and de clinics I contacted told me they are fully booked, but Lamai clinic understood my situation and booked me 3h later. Procedure was painless and super fast. I feel much better now, the only thing I would prefer the doctor to speak more fluently in English but still we could communicate. Apart from that everything was good.”
