“We were absolutely delighted with our dinner at Merah Putih! The ambience is stunning, creating the perfect atmosphere for a wonderful evening, and the food is amazingly delicious. Every dish we tried was incredible, but the absolute standouts were the jackfruit bao bun, the Kembang kol, and the tempeh bagum. To top it all off, the dragon frizz mocktail was incredibly refreshing.The watermelon mocktail was also good. Highly recommend this place for an unforgettable dining experience!”

“Wow! Incredible restaurant both in terms of the vibes and the flavours! Coming from London, both tasting menus felt like decently priced options for people wanting to try a variety of Indonesian dishes. I went for menu one with an additional appetiser of Lombok Oyster amd a cocktail on the side - totalling around 865k + service/taxes. The tasting menu really was a journey though different regional dishes and I was very glad I chose to go the tasting route. Portion sizes were large so I was a bit full by the end of it but not painfully so. My dining companions created their own tasting menus but ended up ordering a bit too much! For me the oysters, the duck and the beef checks were my favourite dishes, which I wasn't expecting! And the citrus cocktail was my favourite drinks wise. Service throughout the meal was friendly and helpful but not overbearing. All in all a fantastic and unforgettable meal for my final night in Bali - I would highly recommend to anybody wanting to experience regional Indonesian food in a luxe setting.”

We opted for the à la carte menu, which allowed us to explore a good range of dishes, and the pricing felt very reasonable given the quality of the food, service, and the refined setting. The food itself is well executed, with clear flavours and thoughtful presentation. There is a strong emphasis on Indonesian ingredients and techniques, presented in a way that feels approachable rather than overly formal. Portions are well judged, making it suitable both for sharing and for a more structured meal. The cocktail selection deserves special mention. The menu is creative and well curated, with cocktails that complement the food rather than overpower it. A very enjoyable start and finish to the meal. Service was excellent throughout the evening. The staff were attentive, professional, and genuinely warm, making sure we were very well looked after without being intrusive. Overall, Merah Putih delivers a consistently high-quality dining experience that balances elegance, comfort, and flavour. Highly recommended.”

“There is no denying that the architecture at Merah Putih is absolutely impressive. The space itself is visually stunning and grandiose, but unfortunately, the physical comfort stops there. During my visit, it was uncomfortably hot inside, almost as if they simply didn't want to turn on the AC. Sweating through a fine dining experience definitely ruins the upscale atmosphere they seem to be aiming for. ​The food itself was a bright spot. I ordered the Bebek Betutu, and it was genuinely delicious. However, that great dish was quickly overshadowed by the nickel-and-diming and the extremely lackluster service. For a restaurant operating in the fine dining space, charging extra for basic crackers, something freely offered at other nearby elevated restaurants, just feels incredibly stingy and sets the wrong tone from the start. ​Ultimately, the subpar service was the biggest letdown of the night. For a restaurant trying to present a high-end image, the staff felt very uptight, and there was a complete lack of friendly, welcoming faces. When the hospitality and basic comfort levels are this poor, even a delicious duck dish and a beautiful building can't save the evening. I definitely won't be coming back.”

“Warm, cozy, and a really nice place definitely feels more like a dinner spot than lunch. The ambience does most of the heavy lifting here. Vegetarian options were a bit limited since my friend is veg. He ordered the vegetarian nasi goreng, which turned out to be less nasi, more mushroom convention. Safe to say, it unlocked a brand new mushroom phobia lol A pleasant surprise was the magician who came to our table great tricks and genuinely entertaining. That definitely added a fun touch to the experience. Overall, it’s refined fine dining with a lovely setting. Nice to experience once, but probably a one-time visit for us.”
