“I had a great experience at Open Mat Makati. The facility has a clean, modern, and well-organized setup that makes it a comfortable place to train and relax. The Brazilian Jiu Jitsu sessions were well structured, and the instructors were knowledgeable and supportive whether you’re a beginner or more experienced. I also liked that they offer other wellness options like yoga, cold plunge, infrared sauna, and contrast therapy, which makes the place more than just a training gym. The atmosphere was welcoming and the community felt friendly and motivating. Overall, it’s a great spot if you’re looking to improve your fitness, train BJJ, and recover properly. I would definitely come back again.”
“Dropped in to train today and really enjoyed the experience. The space is clean, thoughtfully designed, and has a calming feel that’s different from most gyms. Friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, and an overall great vibe from the moment I arrived. Had a very positive experience training here👊🏽🥋”
“Gentle Flow with Teetap was the gentlest yoga I've ever tried. I prefer yoga classes that combines yoga + meditation and Teetap is wonderful at that. I also prefer hassle-free experiences but here if you're not a monthly member you have to bring your own mat or pay rent for a mat... Nevertheless, the studio was spacious and the women's room was perfect and modern. Unlike my first visit for inquiry here, the staff this time was nice. Drinking water is provided and they even serve tea after a class, they also have merch for sale. ;>”
“It's quite generous of them to have a free trial of membership for everyone to try a Jiu Jitsu class for 2 weeks. The studio is very new, pretty modern and minimal, and clean. I got a chance to join an evening class on Thursday, and it was fun. The teacher was really kind, instructive, and friendly. However, there were only me and a guy in the class at the time, so we had to practice the technique together, which made me uneasy. I enjoyed the class, but because of that and the fact that the studio is a bit far from my place, I won't be joining it again. Nevertheless, I might attend a yoga class they have on Saturday.”
“Open Mat Studio is, without a doubt, the best yoga studio I've tried in Metro Manila, and I've tried many. As a daily practitioner, I've been coming almost every lunchtime on weekdays, and it has become my favourite ritual. The studio itself is spacious, spotless, and has a calm, welcoming energy from the moment you walk in. The staff are incredibly kind and attentive, they genuinely make you feel at home and cared for. That warmth extends to the community itself: the regular students are wonderful, and I've made real friends among the fellow practitioners I see week after week. It's the kind of place where everyone, regardless of level or background, is made to feel they belong. The teaching here is what truly sets Open Mat apart. A special mention to two teachers who have made a real difference for me: Trina Sotto (Wednesdays, noon) teaches a traditional, grounding vinyasa class that is both soothing and beautifully structured. Beginners feel safe and welcomed, while advanced practitioners will find real depth and intention in her sequences. Truly one of a kind. Val De Los Santos (Power, Core and Dynamic Flow on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, noon) is a force of nature. Her classes are challenging, inventive and never the same twice. She'll make you sweat hard and laugh out loud in the same breath. The classes can feel intense if you're brand new, but Val has a gift for making every student feel seen and capable. After every class, the studio serves complimentary ginger tea and snacks, a lovely touch that gives you a moment to come down, connect with fellow students, and savour the end of your practice. The pricing is also genuinely excellent for what you get. First-timers can try their first class for just 300 PHP, the beginner's pass (5 classes, valid 14 days) is 2,000 PHP, and the unlimited monthly package is 5,000 PHP, which includes mat use and a complimentary cold plunge or sauna session. For this quality, it's a remarkable deal. Whether you're just starting out or you've been on the mat for years, come and try Open Mat. You won't regret it.”
