“I just want to share a quick rant about our experience at the ER. My friend and I were reviewing for the CPA board exam when she suddenly had severe abdominal pain. Since the review center was just nearby, we rushed her there in Perpetual Succor immediately. To make a long story short, several medications were given to her, I think, around three different ones na but her pain still wasn’t subsiding. We honestly didn’t know what was going to happen. Then I overheard an older nurse she looked about 60+ wearing glasses and she check on my friend and say, “Masakit pa rin ma’am, yang tiyan mo? Ang dami nang binigay sa’yo ah.” I was shocked. What was my friend supposed to do when she was clearly still in pain? A male nurse quickly apologized, probably because he was also surprised by what the older nurse said. It felt unprofessional, and her tone wasn’t really unacceptable. After naman, we found out that my friend has an ovarian cyst, which was why the pain wasn’t going away despite the medication. Thankfully, the surgery went well and she’s okay now. The doctor was calm and professional throughout our stay sa baba and It was really just that one older nurse who left a bad impression. It turns out NA pala siya, no offense sa NAs pero grabe ugali niya.”
