Although it is a relatively small hospital, the level of care and attention I received was exceptional. The nurses were highly professional, compassionate, and genuinely attentive to their patients. When I arrived, I was feeling extremely unwell and vomiting frequently. The staff quickly helped me lie down and rest while waiting to see the doctor. Every time I became sick, they immediately brought tissues and checked on me, making sure I was as comfortable as possible. “After my moped accident, I was treated immediately and very professionally at Thai International Hospital Phangan. My pain was taken seriously right away, and a CT scan as well as an X-ray were performed immediately, which gave me great reassurance. The follow-up the next day was very thorough. The wound was carefully cleaned, and no infection developed. The hospital is extremely hygienic and operates at the highest medical standards. As a tourist, I felt very well taken care of. “I spent a few days in this hospital, it’s clean and comfortable there, and the staff are friendly. However, I’m sorry to say this, but unfortunately I wasn’t treated properly. Long story short: I was admitted with stomach pain and symptoms of electrolyte imbalance. For several days, my body wasn’t functioning properly - I was unable to move, I couldn’t taste or smell anything, and I had no sense of bodily needs; I was weak and also had neurological symptoms (perceptual disturbances, dissociation, confusion, anxiety). After returning to my country, it turned out that I have tetany and was having a tetanic seizure at the time (the abdominal pain was caused by a different bacterial flora). When I asked the doctors at that hospital if that could be tetany, they said no. I think they thought I was having panic attacks and didn’t believe me that something strange was happening to my body, so I was given medication that was inappropriate for my condition (once I was given a sedative and anti-nausea medication even though I told them I hadn’t vomited once, and PPIs which made my condition worse). On the last day, my kidneys weren't working properly (I mentioned it, but nobody did anything about it). I suffered terribly and was very scared during those few days, and when I was discharged, I ended up in another hospital (they didn’t help me either). Somehow I managed to get home, and here I received the proper care, but honestly, I don’t know how I survived it, I’m still deeply traumatised.”
