“I can understand that hospital care can be expensive, and I might have been able to accept the cost of a single overnight stay had the charges felt proportionate and clearly explained. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. My wife was treated for a paronychia infection, which had already required excision at a prior visit. When we returned the following day, she was advised to register for an overnight stay in order to undergo what appeared to be a relatively minor procedure of excising an abscess . At this hospital, procedures typically done at the bedside elsewhere are instead carried out in an operating theatre, with the associated operating room charges naturally. This included a recovery room fee of nearly USD 70, despite the use of only local anesthesia. Following the procedure, my wife—who was fully able to walk—was kept horizontal and transported to her room by wheelchair with the assistance of multiple staff members. We were told this was standard protocol, though the necessity was unclear. I must say medical staff were mostly professional and kind in their approach but .... In addition, a series of tests were ordered (urinalysis and blood work, including glucose), despite the fact that identical tests had been completed a week earlier as part of a routine physical and shared during registration. The results of these hospital tests were not made available to her. Subsequent charges would have included a dressing change by a physician along with three additional high-dose IV antibiotic treatments, totaling over USD 1,200, following approximately USD 3,000 already incurred. Taken together, these costs appear disproportionate to the level of care provided. Based on comparable experiences in neighboring Vietnam and Thailand, the same treatment would likely have cost hundreds—possibly thousands—of dollars less. It is difficult to see how medical tourism could ever exist under such pricing. We are still hoping that the outstanding lab and swab results will be shared with us, as they remain relevant to ongoing care. Update: the results were finally shared (including the pre-treatment tests which were absolutely unwarranted). I would advise anyone that requires an urgent, but minor treatment to seek it elsewhere at a clinic or hospital that sticks to their cost estimates.”
“Just talking about the Urology nursing team, I am totally satisfied with that professional service. All the staff was very friendly, not stressed at all. Everybody spoke perfect english. Ok, without insurance you pay yourself, but even the prices were absolutely ok. I changed from another small specialised hospital. They had a wrong diagnosis and would have charged 2000$ for a 15 min operation. And the Docs did not even speak english. So, I am glad, that I went there.”
“My husband had emergency brain surgery here after an accident on the street in the city, while he was a tourist in Cambodia. The surgeon was amazing and saved my husband's life. He and the whole staff were thorough in details for medical care, and very caring and patient and kind with us for the several weeks before travel insurance felt my husband was able fly back to Canada. We were thankful to our LORD God for this hospital. We were relieved that everyone who worked with us spoke English.”
“I recently brought my son to Royal Phnom Penh Hospital after he twisted his ankle. While the medical staff were polite and the facilities seemed fine, I was shocked by the charges. We were billed over USD 300 for a simple consultation — with the specialist fee alone at USD 180. That is an outrageous amount for a minor injury and far above reasonable prices for Phnom Penh. Whether patients have insurance or not, such inflated fees are simply not realistic. Healthcare should be accessible and transparent, not a shock when you receive the bill. I hope the hospital management reviews their pricing policy, because experiences like this discourage people from seeking care there again.”
“High competency Hospital in Cambodia with Qualified in International standard accreditation , This Hospital is only one in Cambodia that install MRI 3.0 Tesla and They can done Heart Surgery here and Heli-pad for rapid transfer the patient”
