Sushi Yorokobu

“I was really surprised that I could still get a reservation even after booking just one day in advance, especially considering how highly rated this place is on Google. It turned out to be the worst Omakase I’ve ever had. The ingredients were of very poor quality and didn’t seem Japanese at all. The taste was no different from an ordinary sushi restaurant. This is my honest review — I hope it helps others think carefully before deciding to come. The main point is that it’s not cheap at all — it cost 3,900 baht, and with additional charges, the total exceeded 10,000 baht. That’s completely unreasonable. I honestly don’t understand why others give such high ratings — what are they thinking? Have they never had proper Japanese cuisine before? Or are those reviews fake, possibly bought ratings?”

“This restaurant is absolutely delicious fresh ingredients, very clean, fast service, and the staff communicate well and are genuinely friendly. The atmosphere is lovely, the restrooms are spotless with separate facilities for men and women, and the background music is soft and relaxing, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. Prices are reasonable too. Definitely adding this to my list of favorite spots in Ekkamai!”

“This is one of the best experiences I’ve had and I have eaten Michelin starred (which this restaurant doesn’t have) omakase before. I would say this is top 2. The restaurant is small which makes it very intimate, in a positive way. Our waiter Ann was absolutely fantastic. She helped to describe everything and made the experience great. You have your “own” chef in front of you and the representation of every dish feels very genuin. We ordered the 12-course but took in 2 more because we didn’t want to miss anything. I would recommend everyone to go here.”

“My husband and I had a 16 course dinner And order two small bottles of sake. Dinner was good until I had to use the restroom, The server asked me if I was drunk and made a comment that my cheek was red. After she said that, it didn’t sit well with me, I felt like she was being unprofessional and rude. It is none of her business. If I was tipsy, it was her job to take care of me not to judge me. She had short hair with bangs. I don’t remember her name, but the management should look into that because it made the experience not as memorable and I wouldn’t go back. I’ve never been in the restaurant where I was judged bf by our server. The management and the owner should retrain their staff on how to speak to their guests.”

“Was here with my sister on our Bangkok trip. We had the 12 Course Omakase lunch. Very average. Total bill came to 5870bht for 2. Place is small and decor is standard. It would be more professional if there is a menu on the course you are consuming so you know what you are eating. I could hardly understand what the chef was saying on each dish. I must say out of all the Omakase restaurants I’ve been to around the world, this one would categorise as not value for money in terms of what you get with service decor and presentation. My sister and I were literally still hungry after the 12 courses and it seems like we were rushed through the course so that they could close up.”
