“Visited The Monkey Productions Dessert Bar recently and found the overall experience quite mixed. The presentation and styling of the desserts were certainly creative and visually impressive. Each dessert looked like a work of art, and the server took the time to explain the concept and ingredients when serving each item, which we appreciated. However, despite the interesting presentation, we honestly struggled to understand what we were eating. The flavor combinations were unusual and, unfortunately, did not appeal to our taste. While we can see the creativity behind the desserts, we found many of the flavors rather odd and not particularly enjoyable. Service was friendly and attentive throughout the visit, and the effort put into the dessert concepts is evident. Unfortunately, for us, the taste did not match the visual appeal, and we left feeling disappointed despite the impressive presentation.”

“Such a gem! The Monkey Gallery Dessert and bar is unlike any other place we’ve been to. The ambiance is very Vietnam but remixed to appeal to younger crowd yet still pays homage to the culture. The staff, especially Flora was so welcoming and we stumbled in right before their game of tan tan bingo. We were able to join them and had such a great time. We ordered the buttermilk panna cotta, the matcha desserts along with the non alcoholic pairings. All was memorable, we will definitely be back and we reccomend adding this spot to your itinerary!”

“The seasonal desserts were creative and each of us tried one item. The flavors leaned more toward experimental concepts, so some tasted interesting rather than something you’d specifically return for. It’s a spot that focuses on novelty over classic, repeatable flavors. Service was straightforward and the staff handled our group of eight with reasonable efficiency. Orders came out in good time, and the team explained the seasonal items clearly. The space is small and felt cramped for a larger group like ours. The signage is very low-key, so it’s easy to miss the shop if you’re not looking closely. Overall, it’s worth a visit if you enjoy trying unique, seasonal desserts, but less ideal if you’re looking for a comfortable sit-down experience or familiar flavors.”

“What a great experience! This was my second visit, the last time was a few years ago and they redecorated their place. It now looks like an old school Saigonese street scene with a candy store, full of fun gimmicks. The music fitted the vintage vibes and their dessert are absolutely delicious. We tried their tiramisu and durian crème brûlée, both were good but our favourite was the crème brûlée. I would suggest to reserve beforehand and ask a seat on the counter.”

“The Monkey Productions DESSERT BAR is located at the city area of D1 HCMC. This dessert shop rated for Michelin for 2023/24/25. The shop deco is pretty unique. Is a small shop with only around 18-20 seats. All the time they are playing some “funny” Japanese songs throughout. I can see many walk-in customers maybe because of their 4.7 ratings in Goggle reviews plus also the Michelin rating. A group of us ordered about 7 different desserts and drinks, we really can’t appreciate any of them. Mostly tasted weird and we have been asking among ourselves “what are will eating ha”??We were joking that this shop should change name as “You Will Never Know What You Are Eating ??” … I don’t think I will ever walk in to this dessert shop again.”
