Tiong Hoe Specialty Coffee

“Tiong Hoe Specialty Coffee is a nice specialty coffee spot tucked inside the Stirling Road HDB area near Queenstown. The café has a clean minimalist interior, and despite the relatively small space, it still feels comfortable for casual catch-ups or getting some work done on a laptop. I tried their iced coffee while working there for a while, and the coffee quality was solid: smooth, balanced, and clearly focused on beans quality rather than overly sweet drinks. They also sell a wide variety of roasted beans and brewing equipment, so it’s a good place for coffee enthusiasts who enjoy exploring different origins. The atmosphere was relaxed during my visit, though it can get quite crowded on weekends. Seating is limited, but the long counter tables are practical for solo visitors. Staff were friendly and the service was efficient even during busy hours. Price is quite reasonable for a specialty coffee café in Singapore, generally around SGD 5–10 depending on the drink and beans selection. Good option for coffee lovers, remote workers, or anyone looking for a quieter café outside the usual Orchard/Tanjong Pagar area.”

“Perfect coffee for me. Aromatic, strong but not too herbal nor acidic. Could drink a few cups of White and not feel stomach queasy. Service warm and friendly. Place small but cozy. “Coffee is unique, but the service unfortunately reduced the entire experience to that of a two-star establishment. For a Monday morning and the start of a great new week, none of the three staff exuded even the slightest warmth. No “good morning,” no greeting, no farewell. Service excellence is essential, regardless of how good your coffee is. It’s worth seriously investing in a friendlier and more welcoming culture, one that customers will remember and return for the moment they step into Tiong Hoe Specialty Coffee. As it stands, nothing feels “special” because of the nonchalant service. Even the cat figurine at the counter had a wider smile than all three staff combined.”

“Stopped by here for a quick coffee break. Ordered an Amber Black coffee. There's no sugar, just pure Guatemala Gesha beans inside. I was surprised by how well it tasted, especially the floral notes and the tea-like flavour. It was potent and distinctively the named beans, so it really was a pleasant experience. They will give you a glass of water to clear your palate. Usually after a few sips, your palate would be clouded by the strong aroma of the coffee beans, hence a sip of water is needed to refresh and clear your palate for you to continue savouring your coffee. Atmosphere was pretty chill, presumably because of the timing. Staff was also friendly, giving an overall inviting atmosphere. Would recommend you to try this coffee spot!”
