“A staple of Hanoi. There's something about eating lime mint popsicles right on the edge of Hoan Kiem Lake that is quintessentially old Hanoi. Extra point for the retro neon sign and the outdoor seating setup. You get your ice cream with a side of the best lake breeze in the city! The packaging still has that beautiful, nostalgic throwback design. Go on weekdays. It would be less crowded, and you won’t have to battle the weekend walking street traffic.”

“Kem Trang Tien is a spot for grabbing some local ice cream, definitely loved the vibes and old school vietnamese ice cream, tasted much better than I expected and I can sense that this ice cream carries a lot of tradition and nostalgia among the locals. The spot gets super crowded, especially students seem to love this place, so it's quite busy. Not too many tourists, I guess hasn't been hyped up enough yet! Worth a visit in case you're in the mood to try local sweet treats!🍦🍦”

“Great vibes. Visit during Tet holiday. The decoration is beautiful and the atmosphere is exciting. Although there are multiple counters selling ice cream and other treats, the queue is quite long. Ice cream is reasonably priced and comes in a variety of flavors.”

“Not your average ice cream shop! From the outside, this store looks like a small stand but when you go inside there are multiple stands selling all sorts of yummy things. This place is clearly a favourite among locals and with so much laughter and many smiles around, we could see why! You can grab a sweet treat, rest your legs in many of the seating areas and just enjoy what a special place this is.”

“I am extremely disappointed with the service at Trang Tien Ice Cream. The ice cream itself may be famous, but the attitude of the staff completely ruined the experience. The employees at the counter were unbelievably rude and disrespectful. Instead of speaking politely, they shouted directly at customers in an aggressive and impatient manner, as if customers were bothering them just for ordering ice cream. This is one of the most well-known places in Hanoi, located right in the heart of the capital and visited by countless tourists every day. It is honestly embarrassing that such a famous place allows staff to behave so poorly toward customers. Basic respect and professionalism should be the minimum standard, especially in a tourist destination representing the image of the city. I understand that the shop can get crowded, but being busy is never an excuse for rude behavior. Customers wait in long lines and still try to be patient, yet the staff act annoyed, unfriendly, and even hostile. It felt very uncomfortable and disappointing. I will definitely not return, and I cannot recommend this place to anyone unless the management seriously improves customer service and staff attitude.”
