Uma Nota Manila

“As a japanese born and raised in Brazil, I was having high expectations. As soon we arrived and confirmed our reservation the staff walk us to our table which was in a room in the back of the restaurant not the main salon (well which is the highlight of the restaurant right?) btw it was empty. Well, we ordered: coxinhas frutos do mar, hamachi ceviche, spicy akami roll and arroz de lagosta. The food presentation was impeccable but definitively lacking of flavor, coxinha dough was completely blend and the sauce “saved” the dish, hamachi ceviche was just ok, akami roll was really good but I was expecting freshly grated wasabi, arroz de lagosta blend, lacking of salt and umami kick. As for the service, our food came really fast but the waiter was constantly clearing out our plates while we were still eating, which it was such a unpleasant experience, it felt the staff was rushing us even though the restaurant had several empty tables.”

“From the moment you enter, the hallway already looks impressive, with a receptionist warmly welcoming you. There’s a staircase where you can catch a glimpse of the entire place, which really highlights how beautiful it is. The ambiance is great—perfect for date nights and special occasions. Service-wise, everything was good and attentive. We tried a full course, from appetizers to mains like ribs and steak, along with cocktails and dessert. As expected, the prices are on the higher side. The food was okay—nothing particularly memorable or something I would crave and come back for—but the place itself was definitely nice.”

“The place is aesthetically nice. Pricey drinks, but you'd understand why. Disconnected crowd to the music. Haha I don't understand why they sway only on an upbeat music, then suddenly the DJ played BlackPink 🤦‍♀️. But okay, majority are college students. Had to leave after 2 drinks 🍸 to find my tribe. 🫠 Maybe I'll try soon the restaurant at the daytime. Heard it's a good one.”

“It was the best dinner in the Philippines and thanks to the careful attention of our waitress Andrea we had a great time and cuddled all the time. Thanks so much, you are super professional. About the food, all was delicious, starting with the fish appetisers, such as the Tuna Tiradito, the hamachi ceviche and the otoro nigiri. Different and tasty sushi rolls and to finish tasty and scenic desserts, like burning cotton candy at the table. Thanks for everything and see you next time. Recommended”

“Visiting Uma Nota- there were high expectations, I really enjoyed the food at Uma Nota — it was tremendously good and definitely the highlight of the night. Every dish was flavorful and well-prepared! Do note, this place is pricier even for the other restaurants I’ve been to, and they were more luxurious and fine dining than Uma Nota. This was also surprising to me. However, the service felt a bit underwhelming. It was on the slower side, and I didn’t receive the drink menu with my main menu, which made ordering a bit inconvenient. The place was also quite cold, which affected the comfort of the experience. For a place with high price, you’d expect higher standards for the service. Overall, amazing food but the service could use a few small improvements to match the quality of the kitchen. I’d still come back, hoping the next visit is a smoother experience.”
