“Donkey & me and our companions, we were all yearning for a healthy and fulfilling repast, and Genesis Vegan Restaurant at Havelock II appeared to be the perfect establishment. Founded by a dietitian, a retired nurse, and a retired teacher, this eatery champions wholesome, plant-based cuisine, with a commendable focus on minimal sugar, salt, and oil content. We were captivated by their Asian-Western fusion menu, drawn in by vegan interpretations of beloved local favorites, and with prices averaging around SGD 10 per person, it struck us as a suitable choice for our group. Our arrival at Havelock II was a bit of an adventure, discovering the restaurant nestled in the basement, somewhat secluded in a corner. As a party of four, we elected to share dishes, our final bill amounting to $66, including Claypot Rice, vegan Chicken Rice, Fish Head Vermicelli Soup, Veg Dumplings, Seaweed Roll, Almond Drinks, Lemongrass Ginger Drinks, and Tofu Cheesecake. While the Claypot Rice was the favorite and the Chicken Rice was well-received, we felt the chili (chicken rice type of chili) wasn't offered proactively for me (the non-vegan), requiring a request, and vinegar for the dumplings would be a welcome addition. In broader terms, our overall experience was most agreeable, with a warm and informal ambiance, a pleasing open kitchen, and commendable service. Discovering their Chinese New Year delicacies led to an impulse purchase of a container each for Donkey and me. In conclusion, Genesis Vegan Restaurant at Havelock II is a location that we would heartily recommend, particularly to those with vegetarian or vegan inclinations, and the agreeable ambiance ensures a pleasant memory. Google Rating: Food: 4/5 (Claypot Rice, vegan Chicken Rice, Fish Head Vermicelli Soup, Veg Dumplings, Seaweed Roll, Almond Drinks, Lemongrass Ginger Drinks, Tofu Cheesecake) - Delicious vegan interpretations of local favorites. Service: 4/5 - Commendable service, but chili not offered proactively for me as the non-vegan. Atmosphere: 4/5 - Warm and informal ambiance, pleasing open kitchen. Overall: 4/5 - Heartily recommended, particularly for those with vegetarian or vegan inclinations.”
“Underrated, healthy vegan food that's value for money. I visited several times and found both the western and asian cuisines to be delicious. They are famous for their lasagna which is generously packed with lentils and mushrooms. Their sundried tomato pasta is also delicious. I don't eat raw veg and they always kindly change the salad sides in dishes to stir-fry veg for me. Every day (or week?) the restaurant has special offerings not on the regular menu such as jajangmyeon. Bonus: They provide free water!”
“I had an absolutely wonderful vegan experience at this restaurant. I had the black Fungi with lime and sesame, really beautifully put together and presented and the dumplings which were absolutely extraordinary and the only info I could manage to get from the person who brought them was that they included water chestnuts. 😊 I think that might be the secret ingredient! A nice pleasant atmosphere it was very quiet at the time and that was okay for me as well. Clean with good service. Very reasonably priced as well I would definitely return.!”

“Tried this vegan restaurant at Havelock II, & luckily they were able to customize for my vegetarian colleague, who can’t eat garlic or onion. I had the Bakuteh rice (with a nice herbal broth), though the Fish head vermicelli seems more delicious with an abundance of seaweed "fish", beancurd & tomatoes etc. Also shared some dumplings with my lunchmates, which were yummy but not the best I had.
