“We booked this by accident. I thought I was booking our dinner at the Magic Penthouse but ended up at Le Petit Chef instead. Le Petit Chef is a family dining experience - well behaved kids and young adults will totally enjoy this. The animated petit chef takes you into a food adventure with each of the course- from appreciation of the ingredients, preparation and the artistry of plating. The food was good and the 5 course meal was just enough to fill me up. I had a martini and gin and tonic and they were both prepared to my liking. The master of ceremony was entertaining and the servers were very attentive. And the there’s a photo op area with a great view of the lit up city.”
“I’ve set proper expectations for myself as I’ve seen mixed reviews about it. I really just wanted to try something new with my family to celebrate my kid’s birthday. On a normal day without any celebrations, I wouldn’t try this at all as I think the price point is absurd. I wasn’t wrong there– food wasn’t the best. We enjoyed most of the projection show nonetheless. So the TL;DR for my review is go if you just want to try something new but don’t expect your money’s worth. Our journey started by queuing at The Peak’s reception by the lift. We might’ve waited 10 minutes there. There was only one receptionist and she was visibly overwhelmed. To the point she was annoyed when I asked if we needed to line up to get to Le Petit Chef. No smiles or courtesy whatsoever. Then we got up to The Peak where we’re greeted by staff who were in better mood lol as they were more polite with smiles and all. Until we were seated and the waiter explained how things work. I didn’t get his name but just a note to Grand Hyatt– we were scheduled on May 8th 8:30pm and he was the first waitstaff to round the tables. I don’t know if he’s exhausted or having personal problems but it was disappointing how he served us. No smiles, poker face, monotone, and was actually rude when I called his attention to order drinks. I had to say “excuse me” twice as he didn’t answer me the first time, and when he did, it was as if he raised his voice at me in a whisper, if that makes sense. It was as if he didn’t like his job at all and was just forced to do it. Nonetheless, I loved the rest of the staff, including the host. They were polite and enthusiastic about serving. This is a huge deal to me as customer experience is my line of business. As for the actual show, it started about 10 minutes late, if not more. And there were also some delays in serving each course after the “lessons” of le petit chef. The food, as I’ve mentioned, not the best. The only thing I liked was the pan-seared salmon and that’s partly because salmon is my fave. Overall, eventhough I think it costs too much and a couple of staff members were not in the mood to make customers happy, it is worth it in a sense that my picky-eater kid actually tried almost everything and learned some history lessons as a bonus.”
“Honestly, I felt a little disappointed. The service and the interaction with the staff were acceptable, and the performance had some interesting moments, but the food itself was not impressive. The main course was too salty, and the dessert was overly sweet. Considering the price of 7,000 pesos per person, I don’t think the food quality was worth the money. In addition, the performance was quite long, which made the dining experience feel dragged out and diluted the overall enjoyment of the meal. Overall, I felt that the experience was not worth the price paid. Another thing that disappointed me was that I asked the staff if I could wear the chef’s hat to take photos, as shown in the online advertisements. The staff said it would be possible later, but throughout the entire meal, I was never given the chance to wear the chef’s hat for photos. This did not match what was advertised online. Overall, I was quite disappointed with this dining experience”
“Small intimate room. The Petit chef takes you and your palette on a wonderfully delicious journey of 5 different creations. Filet perfectly cooked melt in your mouth!”
“IF you are looking for an intimate dinner for two. This is not the restaurant to choose! Tables are solely designed to sit groups of 6-8 people only. IF you come as a twosome, you will be placed at a table with other strangers. For us we liked the food and the servers were great and attentive. HOWEVER; IF you are looking for an intimate dining experience for two as we were, just the wife and I. It isn't happening. You are placed at a table with 6 to 8 other strangers, so you cant even have a conversation with your spouse other than, did you like that dish. Now if you are a party of 6 to 8 people to fill your own table great; group dining events is what the tables are designed for.”
