Tamarind Hidden Cocktail Bar (Me Bar)

“If I could recommend any speciality cocktail bar/speakeasy in Saigon, it would definitely be Tamarind. To start, the service from the bartenders and server were amazing. My friends and I (group of 7) each tried one of their drinks to try and the server explained what each drink was and how to best enjoy them. The atmosphere was great too, low light and intimate with live music on the night we went. The drinks - absolutely amazing, well crafted and so much thought and work put into each one of them. My absolute favorite and most unique drink I’ve ever tried was the Hu Tieu which is a spin-off on the Vietnamese noodle dish. Great umami and flavor that made each sip insanely addictive. Huge shout out to “P” who is one of the masterminds of the cocktails. Highly recommend visiting at least once if you’re ever in Saigon!”

“Me is a great hidden bar that blocks out all the noises in your head, allows you to enjoy your company while serves you crazy good and unique cocktails! My friend and I both enjoyed our evening at Me a lot, our server was really attentive, funny and charming. He also explained how to enjoy our drinks properly while serving - leaving no questions unanswered. Their đồ nhậu (snacks for drinking), especially the beef jerky was excellent and complimented our drinks very well (we had 4 cocktails in total). In terms of atmosphere, Me is so warm and cozy, without being “old”. We got to enjoy live music here as well, from anything to classic pops 80s to 2000s+, while enjoying the busy streets of Saigon. One detail I personally loved was the tamarind trees outside the window (also the name of the bar; planted by the municipality), makes it feel like everything in the bar was intentional and culturally curated, from the naming to every items they serve! We will definitely visit times and times again!”

“Omg - like Daym. One of my goals while in HCMC is to find the best Manhattan. Not always easy in SEA as many don't know what it is and it's not as popular. But this place, hands down is the winner... So far. I'm usually underwhelmed by drinks, especially in particularly touristy areas, but this has been such a great treat. The drinks are so good (I had 4 and nice and happy) and kudos to the genius mind that created these drinks. The flavor and balance is really spot on, especially if you really like a great drink. My favorite by far was the HỦ TIẾU which is alcohol that tastes like the food, savory, sweet, sour - and dangerous with enough of them. The Wake-Up also is a hit with the balance of flavors, but all distinctive. Had the honey cambert cheese and crackers too, as to not get too tipsy, but overall the vibe inside is a great juxtaposition from the chaos that you can view from the bay windows, along with some great relaxing music (have been making a playlist as well). Highly recommend this place for great cocktails, hanging out, or on a date. Will be coming back to try more.”

“Lovely experience in this bar where the drinks were really good. We also asked about local Vietnamese gin- Song Cai and the lovely bartender let us try the 3 variants. We then chose our favourite and the bartender asked us what flavours we liked to curate a drink for us with the gin. Overall it was a great experience and I really recommend.”
