“Our visit to The Hungry Tapir turned out to be a lovely surprise. This plant-based restaurant is truly a hidden gem. We ordered the Glowing Guardian salad, the Ay-Yam Geprek burger, the Pink Bombshell burger, and a mixed fresh juice — and everything was a hit. Both burgers were delicious, but the Pink Bombshell stole the show. Its bright pink bun, made with beetroot, gave it a fun look and a unique flavor. It came with sweet potato fries and was easily the highlight of the meal. The service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere was calm and cozy. With soft lighting, comfortable seating, and gentle music playing in the background, it felt like the perfect place to relax and enjoy good food. Portions were generous, prices were fair, and the overall experience was excellent. I’ll definitely be back to try more from their menu.”

“I really enjoyed the vegan food here. The dishes were delicious, flavorful, and well-prepared. The average spending per person may be slightly above RM40 - 50, but the quality makes it worthwhile. Please note that the food contains garlic and onions. For vegetarians who avoid garlic and onions, it is advisable to check with the staff before ordering. The waitresses are very friendly, helpful, and happy to answer any questions about the menu. Overall, I had a great dining experience and would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for tasty vegan food.”

“I had a wonderful experience at The Hungry Tapir. The restaurant has a very cozy and welcoming atmosphere, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Saheen Mollah, who provided excellent service and made us feel well taken care of throughout our visit. The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, creative, and unique. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and offered something different from the usual dining experience. “Always love checking out vegan places. We had a wonderful meal. Portion size is large. Satay and burger were excellent. The salad sides were fresh and delish. A note to have more salad next time.. Nasi lemak was ok, rendang was tasty, tempeh was a disappointment for me, the vegetable side was overcooked and bland, rice could be more fragrant … only issue is almost every dish is fried …. Love that they stick Wild Kombucha, my fav go to brand. Overall a nice experience, will be back to try the other food”

“We were looking for a Vegan or Vegetarian meal and quickly found this restaurant near our trip to Petaling Street famous for shopping in Chinatown. also, you can find opposite a durian place too to savor this notoriously pungent fruit. it also has a full serviced bar. Serving a fusion based and dynamic menu whereEast meets West, indulge in all day brekkie, local favourites and sweet treats madeplant-based… whilst enjoying holiday-like cocktails at the same time! Your plant-based party awaits! It did have lot of good reviews,  although we were  suspicious but were pleasantly surprised. Its a  pure Vegan restaurant Reviews do good justice to this place, our Host was great in guiding us what to order. To Start of, we we ordered Arancini balls  along Satay which was little chewy. One of the highlight was" local heroes" which is meant to be shared,  as it had plethora of all Malay classics, (mushroom rendang, masak lodeh w. long beans, chilli and soy eggplant, dry ulam, tempeh goreng, tempeh sambal, coconut rice and papadam) along with Roti Canai, There are many options in the menu, we ordered even Laksa along with Nasi Lemak. Staff made sure, food was to our liking and kept on checking on us. Ambience also pretty upscale, It’s a must visit with such impeccable service and economically priced as well.  It was good find on our trip, and will be back soon”
