“Tora is my favorite restaurant in Myanmar tbh. I got there every time like 4-5 times a month. It’s a really underrated restaurant and go the best vibes and food. The one thing I always order is the crunchy shrimp sushi. It’s my favorite thing on the menu I could say and it’s top tier. I love Tora so much that it’s my second home. All of the stuff know me and give me 10% off discount. Great Restaurant:”
“I’ve been here many times, and the food has nothing to complain about. However, the service needs some improvement. The staff are friendly and enthusiastic, but sometimes forget customers’ requests (only when it’s busy; otherwise everything is great). I like the avocado sushi with fried shrimp here, and their matcha latte is good too. The ramen is tasty, but not the best in Yangon”
“This modern-style Japanese izakaya offers a comfortable setting with a lively dining atmosphere, often bustling during peak hours. The menu features a wide range of dishes — we tried the fried cheese stick, beef tataki, tonkotsu ramen, grilled saba, salmon lava roll cheese yaki, pork teppanyaki with assorted vegetables, omelette with vegetables, and minced chicken skewers. Among them, the teppanyaki stood out the most, cooked to perfection with rich, savory flavor and well-balanced seasoning. The beef tataki lacked a distinct taste, while the omelette was creamy but rather mild. The ramen was decent, and the salmon lava roll cheese yaki offered a unique, cheesy twist, though it leaned away from traditional Japanese style. Grilled saba is good though. Highball was light. Overall, food quality is consistent but not particularly memorable apart from the grilled and teppanyaki items. It's a bit pricey for what you get but a good spot for casual gatherings or drinks in a modern izakaya atmosphere. Taste: ⭐⭐⭐ Price: ⭐⭐ Authenticity: ⭐⭐⭐ Service: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Atmosphere: ⭐⭐⭐⭐”
“Went there for a date night and we thoroughly enjoyed it !! I, for one, am very glad to see a place packed with people (family, friends, couple of any age) enjoying food, accompany of each other and good service. We don’t see that kind of crowd in Yangon except for at beer stations or at clubs. So lively. We ate way too much but we loved every dish we had. It seemed quite expensive (for Yangon standard) but the total bill came out ok for us in my humble opinion. Waiters, hostesses and securities are the parking are all well trained, service minded and attentive. Kudos”
“Absolutely wonderful Japanese restaurant. The pork neck especially was exquisite. It's a busy spot so you can't sometimes get a seat. Fast friendly service. Really highly recommended”
