Clean & Efficient: For a busy food hall, it is remarkably clean. The staff are very efficient at clearing away used utensils and keeping the tables ready for the next guest. Plenty of Space: There is a lot of seating available. While the upstairs section was temporarily closed during my visit, there was still more than enough room downstairs. “This place is probably most suitable for hot summer afternoons or evenings when you just want to chill outdoors and enjoy the atmosphere 😌 The menu is actually quite diverse, with Huế dishes, Thai food, Southern Vietnamese food, fresh juices, cocktails, mocktails, and even coconut ice cream. I feel like there are plenty of options here, so it works well whether you come for a full meal or just drinks and snacks with friends. One thing to note is that the portions here are quite big. A single dish can honestly be enough for 2–3 people depending on what you order, so coming in a larger group is probably the best way to try more dishes together. The area itself seems to attract more foreigners than Vietnamese locals. In terms of pricing, it’s definitely a bit higher than many surrounding places and slightly above what most local Vietnamese customers might usually expect. My group ordered grilled chicken with cơm lam. The chicken itself was slightly bland, but thankfully the two dipping salt sauces helped balance the flavor quite well. The cơm lam cooked with coconut water and grilled bamboo was actually pretty good though. We also tried the Thai papaya salad, and wow — it was REALLY spicy 😭 So if you order Thai dishes here, definitely pay attention to the spice level because they don’t hold back at all. For drinks, we ordered a cocktail called “Bánh Mì,” which was quite interesting. It included flavors like cucumber, coriander, lime, and mixed alcohol/juice elements. Honestly, it was pretty okay and definitely unique enough to try once. Overall, I’d say this place is more about the vibe and experience than the food being mind-blowing. The atmosphere is chill, the outdoor seating is nice, and it’s a fun place to hang out with friends. The prices are a little high overall, but trying it once for the experience is still worth it 😌”
“Ben Nghe Street Food is a great place to experience a wide variety of Asian cuisine in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City. I especially enjoyed the large selection of dishes from different countries, including Indian, Thai, and many other Asian specialties. The main focus is on Vietnamese cuisine, offering authentic local flavors and plenty of options to try. The atmosphere is lively, the food is fresh, and there is something for every taste. A perfect spot for anyone who wants to explore different Asian foods in one convenient location.”
“Had a wonderful experience at Ben Nghe Street Food and ended up going there twice during our one week trip. The food is not overly priced, and we even tried some exotic meats. Loved the ambience and the easy availability of beer. There are plenty of food stalls to choose from. Parking is not available, so we took Grab bikes to get there, which was very convenient. The pictures in the men’s toilets are hilarious and add to the fun atmosphere.”
“I visited Ben Nghe Street Food in District 1 and it’s honestly a great spot. It’s the only proper food court in the area and there are so many options to choose from. I really liked the diversity of food available and everything felt fresh and good value for money. The housekeeping staff keep the place very clean, the crowd is nice, and the security team is helpful too. I actually recommend eating here instead of going to a restaurant because you get everything under one roof and the atmosphere is lively. I really enjoyed my time there.”
